I Bought a FAULTY Soundcore MINI That Doesn't Charge | Let's FIX It!
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 4 окт 2024
- I bought this ANKER Bluetooth Speaker from eBay for £6. It does power on, but it has a fault where it doesn't charge. Will it need a replacement micro-usb port or something else?!
Let's fix it!
Hope you enjoy!
Steve
PS. I'm not an expert in repairs at all. I do this for fun, and it may not be the best or safest way to go about repairing broken stuff. I'm pretty good at melting plastic though. Please don't copy me - I'm an idiot.

Stupid Anker Soundcore Mini Bluetooth Speaker Thing
very stupid
solid.
STEVE!!!!! I missed you!!!!! for some reason although your last video was 7 days ago, felt like ages.
thank you!
That was some solid work.
Great job Stez!
Love the deadpan 😂
I can only watch the solder videos from here in the U.K. because as soon as they say Sodder It goes through me, I cringe & switch off 🤦♀️
I never skip the intro rap Steve, you put more effort into them than the fixes, yes that's a backhand compliment, love your content mate, also a north west lad myself
I used to skip those, but now i really enjoy his singing talents
Anybody can fix a speaker but only Steve can freestyle about fixing a speaker while fixing the speaker. Steve you the man🎉
"And I didn't melt anything!" 😆 Solid work Steve👍
😁 thanks Chris!
Including the solder. 😁
I love this!
And no renegade components trying to fly away 😄👍
I kind of learned something from you that you don’t really even do. After watching some of your other videos, I’ve taken your aluminum tape trick to another level. If I’m removing a small chip on the board and it’s surrounded by caps, resistors etc. I put aluminum tape down and just cut a square hole so only the chip I’m removing and it’s legs are visible. This way when I’m using my heat gun I’m not inadvertently blowing other components off the board. The tape holds everyone else in place allowing me to remove just the doodad I’m working on. Just thought I’d share that. Great video as always.
The Rap is my personal favorite moment.
But i also enjoy very much, the solid test, your phrase 'get in there' and your little yellow friend poping up on the screen 👍
Love the "sodder" reference aimed at our cousins across the pond who seemed to think the word has a silent "l".
next you are going to say color has a ‘u’ in it.
@@matts3658 yep! Along with aluminum.
When youve had a shit day......watch Steve and everything goes away....thankyou
Literally watching this on my Apple TV with one of these same Anker speakers connected for the sound.
Anyone that skips those sick flows has lost their mind!
Thanks for showing us how to repair this best sounding little gem.
not going to lie , the singing bits really help. like its a thing that makes me return every time you post. and the solid parts too hah
I've been using one of these since 2018.
The battery life is excellent with around 15 hours off a charge, while at quite a decent volume.
Thanks for the disassembly footage. Process is duly noted.
I didn't skip the rap. That process is important.
LOVE WATCHING THE VIDS , just a little request when working on black components like this speaker , a little bit more direct light would be nice even watching at 1080p I couldn't make out what u were doing, it's fine when you use microscope it was crap when you were dismantling the speaker , it doesn't help I have shit eyesight lol.
I swear every time you do the solid thing in a video I end up with you saying it stuck in my head for a few days. solid SOLID solidddd SOLIDDD
Your flow is getting better and better with each new intro.
I work night shift security and this speaker keeps me sane literally lolol. I carry it around and when no one is around I play music or listen to audio books. :) Great speaker and value for money. I love that you gave it a new lease of life cause they are awesome and I learned a new thing or two so now I can repair it in the future. Thank you!!
I love how repair friendly designed this thing is.
I think someone has been watching too many northridge fix youtube content...solid...solid.....solid.
My only "gripe" about the rap, is that I end up reading the names instead of watching the tear down LOL! These are always incredible! And wow, this thing wasn't built to be repaired at all! Well done!
Steve. I listen to the rap about 50% of the time, because I feel bad skipping it knowing how much work goes into creating that for each and every video!!!!!!!!!
My favorite repair channel on RUclips by far
Left my on my yacht. Outside in the rain for three weeks. Works a treat still.... Class bit of kit.
I just found this channel, i love that you just have enough to understand and learn, with a comedic twist, keep up the good work.
Bro, I love your home made tunes in the begining, please its what makes you you, and we love you for it. ❤️
Definitely one of your best raps so far! Thanks always so enjoyable!
Ah the weekly electronics repair by Steve. This is becoming my ASMR.
I believe that was the best musical interlude yet!
It’s funny when you did the first solid test it did look like one of the points where not solid but it’s another one too you’re bow 😊well done Steve 🎉
"Pop" it back together... it actually did look fairly simple to get back together, so that's nice.
It popped back together nicely! 😁
I have had this exact same speaker, quite a nice device! However from the factory, it comes with firmware that contains an annoying bug where the volume on power-on is set to a very high volume. If you contact Anker about this, you will receive a firmware update, so also their after sales support is excellent!
Only a shame of the lake of glue used, but still a nice little speaker!
I bought a KZ bluetooth adapter for IEMs with plugged cables, those that I had at the time weren't by KZ but had the same connector, and when turning it on this thing blasted my ears with a voice saying "Power on" (why, why don't they use a sound effect or two tones like B&O?) and it could be still finde but had a ton of noise floor which is annoying; these IEMs often have BA drivers that are very sensitive for the noise floor of a player device and this adapter was one of the worst (some Dell Laptops had rather bad onboard sound but at least with less noise floor) I've ever heard...
Your solid tests are HILARIOUS! 🤣
I have no interest in electronics but I love watching your videos 🙂
love it, some could take an example of your attitude fixing electronics above the north 😁✌
Wow that's awesome fix 👍.. there was a way too small area to work and to be it SOLID in first try.. lots of love from India.
My rainbow lorikeets love your rap they head bob and everything every time I watch your videos lol
I own one of these - note to self, don't f**k up the charge port!!😃😃
😁 They're pretty good for the size and price, I like it!
This speaker is awesome. Loud volume for the size. Sound quality is balanced and plenty of bass.
Eternal battery life. Even FM radio possible with a 3.5mm lead plugged in.
Think it’s got an inbuilt mic for Bluetooth calls.
More handy than the bigger Soundcore version.
The Gordon the gopher appearances absolutely crack me up every time
Too early, but Happy 100K! I really hope that you get the verified badge and you make an unboxing of your RUclips Play Button.
Despite its size that was one massive anker!
Sick flow. Love the rap, love the repair!
Just wish the vids were a bit longer. Just so awesome.
Onyx shirt, OMG Steve I didn't expect you to like this band 😛
😁 I've had this t-shirt about 30 years! Love Onyx
@@StezStixFix me too ! It’s now so classy, love it
Dude... the "annoying rap" is not at all. Easily my second favorite part of the channel right behind "Stupid", and before "Get in there", "Solid" and Dave. Cannot forget Dave. It helps that my name is in the rap but... even when it was not, it was epic. Solid.
😁😁 thanks Shaky! Appreciate the feedback! Nice! 👍
You forgot "You beauty!!!"
Yes it is.
'Nice!'
“Get in there!” Is easily #1🎉
Tibro is the name of a town not far from my hometown in sweden :D Great repair!
big ups for the onyx shirt. SLAM!
Thanks for putting your videos up on a Saturday at 7pm. The reason being. The Archers (radio 4) Broadcasts 6 days a week however not on a Saturday. Watching your excellent repairs covers this blank spot. It's comforting in the same way as watching an episode of The Repair Shop. Thanks Steve.
You’re so close to 100k! Let’s gooooo!
Another great fix and video. Grtz from the Netherlands 🥳
Brilliant fix Steve it looks SOLID
Great Job Steve👍. Sometimes it's easier to heat from the bottom of the pcb to remove sockets.
I never skip the rap it's awesome and aswell the opening part very good 👍 I really like it
This is so impressive and I wish I knew how to do it
I bought a Soundcore motion speaker that stopped charging after a few weeks. Charging port has been fine (USB C) and speaker will work until the charge empties.
Since then I've had four replacements and all have done the same. Fair play to Anker for replacing but there is obliviously fundamental problem with their speakers somewhere.
Hi Steve, just come accross your channel this week and love it, but I am intrigued by the music. It's so varied and interesting. I have a feeling it's either your work or a friends, perhaps an arranger keyboard?? Do tell!! (I use a Yamaha SX900).
Solid effort.
That is one cool rap. Great humor too. Keep it up 👍
Just love the Solid Test 🤣😂👍
Another interesting fix to see there on this Anker bluetooth speaker well done as always Steve - Nice 1 👍
Great video and fix. I hope you don´t forget the sunglasses by the outro song😁
now that's a ==*SOLID*==fix!!
The best partner these is the SOLID test
Miracle Worker strikes again fixes broken speaker
Well done & +1 for Onyx shirt - slam!
I always pretin with sollllllder the pins from the new connector before replacing. The Rap its actually the best part of your videos IMO.
Who is that little character you pop up? Seen it in many of your videos and it cracks me up every time.
Gordon the Gopher, I believe.
@@AccessMostAreas Thanks!
Best Song/Rap yet!
The rap is actually quite nice addition to the video!
I've been religiously watching your content, mainly to get some ideas on how to solder. I have pulled off the vibration motors off my Xbox One controller. I've been trying to apply solder to a brand new iron tip and it just falls off. Watching you, it just sticks, like magic. I'm guessing I need to spend thousands on this equipment.
The little tube of flux is critical
Love that Goa'uld voice😄
Solid Dance Moves Steve!
Good head movement
Yooo, Steven singing some Cab Callaway tonight! 🎺 🎷 🥁
Nice Blues Brothers tune at the end there after the vid steve.
so skilled. very impressive.
3:44 "Well - so far this is not fun to work on!" Not a good start!
🤣 it was a bit fiddly to be fair! 😁
Steve, a year late but: a bunch of Soundcore speakers were just recalled for fire hazards after a few caught fire and one burned down a house in the US. You might want to check your speaker to see if it's affected.
Solid.
New flow? nice, sounds very solid
You never fail to make me laugh but seriously I do like your work
I have one and I have saved this video for easy future reference.
"Αnnoying rap"? It's an integral part of the StezStix experience, mate, don't sell yourself short! :D
Definitely Solid, effort!
Onyx! Takes me back to the movie Judgement Night 😀
The rapping is why i subbed just so ya know
12:23 I even see Dave dance
I went through the same struggle with the micro port twice and just finished, the first was a super crapy cheap speaker and the other was a tiny board of a ps4 joystick charger I guess. I was quite confident that the pins are SOLID 🤓
Why he really got bars tho🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣missed your calling bro
I'm here for Gordon ❤️
A real [SOLID] job there!
Great video, as usual! What kind of stash of usb ports do you have? You almost always seem to have a dead ringer for whatever port that needs replacing.
Solid video Steve.
Another great job Steve, where do you get your t shirts from?
Great video as always. Always look forward to these, makes my Saturday afternoon
"Anker Issues" would have been a much better title.
I have their Liberty 3 Pro earbuds, they're really good. Anker is probably my favourite manufacturer on Amazon for cables too.
if there's enough room, you can stick a coin on plastic bits with kapton tape to get a makeshift heat shield that can hold more energy than alu tape.
no skip!!!
Ok we need some shirts with solid on them, also love the onyx shirt!
