Thank you, Fr. Frank, For this history lesson on the Tau Cross-I have one and I sleep with it every night. Prayers for all of the Caps and in a special way the four new Postulants.

It seems to date back to the ancient Egyptians and possibly before , and was called the Ankh that had a loop on the top possibly representing a ceremonial girdle and was copied in various forms in history. It seems to represent life, salvation and maybe mirror. Also became a symbol of St Anthony of Egypt as like his t-shaped crutch. The very last public picture of Elizabeth 11shows her holding a T-shaped crutch. And i notice Burgundy Dukes and Countesses wearing it in the1400s paintings and some of Henry v111 wifes are wearing the symbol and Mary 1.
