She is so precious. My dogs are rescues and behaved the same way they want to hold on to everything they have never had. My girl was starved so it took a long time until she stopped guarding her food. Ellie is such a sweet dog, I love her ears and big brown eyes. I know she will have a wonderful life from now on ❤❤❤

I love how she grooms her stuffier too :)) one of my dogs does that, she is the one who had puppies. Ellie is precious and it is heartwarming to see her hoarding things for herself. She now feels safe enough to do that, eventually she will feel safe enough to not have to. Love that she was a rescue. Will enjoy watching her blossom:))
Our little girl, Browning, did the same thing when we first got her. She would take all the toys and bring it to her bed. Ellie is so happy with all her toys. So much to chose from! Such sweet expressive eyes..... I am happy she is settling in and hopefully soon can sleep in the bed.
I have tried lifting her up on the the bed, but she doesn't understand. We leave the crate door open, so she can come and go. She is very used to a confined environment.
My parents adopt streetdogs and it is said that a dog need a full year to completly settle in since they usually know nothing about living in a house. And that always turns out to be true. So probably it is going to be the same for Ellie.
Ellie probably feels safe in her crate for now but I am sure she will be up on that bed in no time! I think she has been adjusting well and you can see her coming into her own! I am sure she feels the unconditional love you, Larry and Max are giving her....she is so lucky to have you!
