    A nice and very lively song .. starts shortly after 25:08 Roy Rogers sings in the foreground and others sing in the background. It's a happy sounding song!

    These old Roy Rogers movies were so corny, and silly, and so predictable, AND I WISH ROY WAS STILL MAKING MORE OF THEM! There's nothing today to match up to them. We were youngsters and watched the fist fights, and the gun fights, and the cattle stampedes, and none of us grew up to be criminals. Today there is a generation of losers.

    Was anyone aware that Sally Payne was born in 1912 and was already 30+ years old when she appeared in these RR films as a 19-year-old?

      I did that just once, and I think I aged 10 years right there.

    In a couple of early 30s Wayne movies, I've seen Gabby before he was Gabby. In one movie he was even the main villain. And no beard.

    I love the song the sons and Gabby sing at 7:40 :) Is it just me or does the leading lady look like a grown up Shirley Temple?

    Trigger "the smartest Horse in the Movies", is smart enough to get away, before the shooting starts at the Hardy Ranch @ 46:15.

    Ever wonder how they got those rubber tires to make a screeching sound on a dirt road, as though they were on a paved road? Always wondered about that.

    At 34:58, did anyone notice that that was the same ranch house and approach area as was used in 'Romance On the Range', also made in 1942? The directors were smart enough to alter it just a little to pass as something different.

    Need to turn up your VOLUME. I have my speakers up full blast, and I still have to sit about a foot away from the monitor to hear anything. Most other movies are OK.

    I can't agree with Lee Larson. I love B&W. Colorizing doesn't give true colors. Shadowing is part of the charm of B&W movies. Colorizing is PHONY.

    • @leelarson6534
      @leelarson6534 7 лет назад

      Shadowing should be a gradation of white-grey-black, not black shadows in which you can't see anything. THAT'S what I mean. Black-and-white worked just fine in 'Dracula', 1931, and 'The Mummy', 1932. and others.

      And, while we're at it, what's 'phoney' about colorized prints (not originals)? The world around us is full Technicolor.

    The noise Lee hears is the brake pads. I'm an old guy and I know that sound.

    • @leelarson6534
      @leelarson6534 7 лет назад +1

      Lee is an old guy too. I'm 73 as of now, and I've never heard brake pads like that; the sound they make is generally like rusty metal-to-metal as the drum-and-shoe assembly wears out.

    Stop with the "over the top" noisy casino games & other game ads etc. I will play If I choose. I am not a fan of any of these games!! I appreciate your cooperation.

      I like the classic cowboy movies with Hopalong Cassidy and Roy Roger with Gabby, Ted and California. Thanks

      I typed Red for Red Connors it changed to Ted which was incorrect.

    These old prints need to be colorized to bring out the detail. As it is, most of what we see is dark shadows with an occasional flash of light.
