You've now gotten to my favourite part of the series. When I watched the second half of season 3, I thought "It can't possibly get better than this, right?". For me, season 4 is the most consistently excellent with its episodes, and I absolutely love the themes it works with.

"Midnight Train" is such a perfect title for episode two. All of us who've had to be away from home long periods of time know that feeling too well, when you finally take your transport back in the middle of the night, the anxiety, the nerves, and most of all, the desire to see your loved ones once again. They want you to become empathic towards the people we, who saw everything from Paradis' perspective, consider the enemies, and they do it in the most humanly way possible, through shared experiences. Brilliant.
40:48 this has become a top ten aot moment imo. It’s not one of the show’s flashy action sequences but instead it’s a perfect monologue giving the viewer a completely different side of Reiner, a Reiner who is slowly realizing the err of he and Marley’s ways. Not to mention the cinematography of the camera slowly zooming into his face

39:16 Falco is Tanjiro. 🤣 For some reason, Tanjiro's VA always gets to voice really compassionate characters. Even Okarun is a pretty compassionate character. And he actually has a very soothing voice as well, like when Tanjiro was doing his inner dialogue in the Hashira training arc episode when he was trying to get Giyu back on his feet.
Season 4 Part One opening has no spoilers but Part Two has MEGA spoilers but is absolutely worth a watch once you get to episode 22 or after watching 21.
0:35 I might be wrong but I think isayama was also trying to get somebody to draw for him because he isn't a super good artist by comparison to other people who would start a manga. He definitely got better as he continued writing it though. Season 4 definitely matches the style of the manga compared to the style that studio Wit started. You're going to see a lot more of the lines shading people's faces cuz that's how isayama shades faces.
it's so funny that you said falco reminds you of tanjiro lol...I mean you already found out why but I smiled, falco is truly son shaped. saw you a bit confused about that one line of reiner's mom where she says that the island devils left them there to suffer, so I'm gonna remind you that the first king of paradis who made the vow of peace took all the eldians he could in a very short time and fled to the island where he erased their memories of the outside world, so a lot of other eldians were left to fend for themselves outside the island. it makes sense why some would think that those people on the island are living in paradise while they suffer on the mainland, even tho we know that is not the case cause we already got the paradisians' perspective for 3 seasons. other notable things, season 4 has a new animation studio so that's where the difference is. oh and the intro is very spoiler free lol I think this one might be their vaguest intro yet visuals wise. I think you should do a big video after you finish the series where you react to all the openings (and maybe even endings) cause you won't be able to get spoiled anymore and you have to witness the glory of aot music lmao. also you'll have fun with and understand all the references in them and the lyrics, cause you 100% have to find and read the lyrics if you react to the music. great reaction as always, I can't wait for you to get to some certain episodes I won't name here so you won't know when aot hits you hard haha!
intro's safe to watch for part one of season 4. No spoilers. the time skip from S3 to 4 is four years. the other five years was the skip during training in season 1, and all the events to the end of season 3. remember the curse of Ymir, and Falco said if she inherited the Armor, she'd die at 27 at the oldest. We can assume Reiner still has time before he passes the Armor. Since he likely got it right before going to Paradis nine years ago, he has 3-4 years left. So, that puts Gabi at 11-12 probably.
It's fine to like them, Lach. By the end of this series, it won't matter who you like or not. At least that's what happened to me. I still raged and cried from specific moments tho-. But this show is just too good in showing all sides of the cube. I just hope you're prepared lol
