i filled in my 35 year old Craftsman sockets/wrenches set with Tektons and have been well pleased. I then proceeded to buy Tekton screwdrivers, punches. chisels, hammers, & pliers. All have been strong precision made and effective for the tasks i have given them. I enjoy your videos and have subscribed. Keep up the good work young man.
Thanks for the sub and feedback. I haven’t gotten a chance to try out many of their other tools yet but that’s great to hear and they are definitely on my list of future purchases.
@@OUSoonr1981 the sockets and combination wrenches are made in Taiwan. Around 20% of their tools are made in the USA right now. Their angle head wrenches are made in the USA.
tekton has been updating a bunch of their lines and I get the strong feeling in 2021 we will see their wrenches update to bolt biters and maybe even i-beam handles.
Hope so that’s what I’m looking for. some of these other brands are too expensive to justify how much I use them I usually use flex head wrenches or sockets.
Comparable more to the gearwrench combination set, especially if they’re made in Taiwan. My gearwrench set was a 44piece initially, I made it a 49 piece by picking up the handful of unused sizes separately, set is 6-32mm and 1/4” -1 1/2”. Price wise though, the10% back from tekton can’t be beat.
I’m on the fence right now between the 44 piece Gearwrench or the 46 piece Tekton wrench set. I am slightly favoring the Gearwrench because I already have some of their ratchet wrenches and approve of them and also because in all test I have seen, the Gearwrench seems to have a better open end wrench (meaning the Tekton will slip on a bolt head before the Gearwrench will)
even though i do not know very much about this particular brand (never owned), they seem like a solid choice as i have read a few positive blog reviews about Tekton even before seeing your detailed review. thanks for the excellent vid and education !
I go back and forth on whether to buy online or box store. I too live very close to a Home depot an have bought their metric combination wrenches. which are amazingingly similar to my SK SAE wrenches. it's just so easy to go and get a tool there or get something warranted in 15 mins time. I do like tekton, nice review
I bought a complete set of Tekton wrenches and sockets about 7 years ago from Amazon, but if they are not kept very dry, the sockets, etc. rust. I'd buy another set of the same Tekton tools, but they are no longer available from Amazon, or listed on the Tekton website. The 10 mm sockets always escape from the blow mold case, as is usually the case with any 10 mm socket.
The tekton brand is awesome ! A few things like about them they are based in grand rapids Michigan both times I ordered from there site I received the next day got 10%back .and there quality is great they started as a cheap nothing brand and they constantly are improving there line making them better and better soon if not now they will rival any tool truck brand there ratches already out perform snap on. There breaker bars too. However snap on wrenches are still a bit better .but I have full confidence tekton will continue to improve

Congratulations on getting a great wrench set. I recently purchased the same set and I am very happy. Comparing the set to Pittsburgh really isn't fair. If you want a Harbor Freight comparison you have to step up to Icon, and Icon is far more expensive. Can't wait to see your new tool box. 🙂
Hey thanks and congratulations to you too. My only reason for comparing the two was because they were almost identical in design. That being said, Pittsburgh doesn’t offer anything close to Tekton when it comes to a complete set so maybe they aren’t great to compare.
@@adriannurse1502 I ordered the Husky 56” 23 drawer box. It was between that and the US General. I like the build of the US General better but I like some of the features of the Husky more. Our stores don’t carry the box I ordered so I’m hoping I like it.

Tekton like Icon are not professional grade wrenches and sockets, they are made with a softer steel, that is what people don't understand, they think a wrench is a wrench but nothing could be farther from the truth. There is a video where a mechanic bought some Icon Tools and used them daily to test them and see how they would hold up and after only a few months the short comings of the quality of the Icon tools started showing up. I can answer that question why don't you just use the Pittsburgh wrenches since they are similar,so I have 5 sets of Pittsburgh wrenches to compare to what I used to have in Sears and Craftsman and honestly I don't think any of them compare to the tekton in my opinion though.. I also ended up buying a set of s wrenches and line and offset wrenches in Pittsburgh kinda how I ended up with 6 sets of Pittsburgh wrenches.
