I have moved to polo after Ignis..ignis was good every aspect except safety..but in this car you feel premiumness and confident about safety and trendline is value for money car
buy an Auto Rikshaw rather than buying any 1 litre MPI engine. I was literally missing turbo in my 2.5 lit e46 323i, and now world has reduced to 1 liter MPI. 1liter is good for bikes. Car should have atleast 1.5 lit and turbo, unless they are 3 lit or above.
Polo Comfortline or Figo Titanium (P) ? I want to go for the Polo but I feel 75 bhp isn't enough..also the 3 cylinder knocks a lot in the first gear. What do you suggest?
figo is also 3 cyl , figo Titanium Blue more VFM than Polo Comfortline (more powerful engine) ford only fear i have(seeing their sales numbers) is it might leave India :( Lets pray they dont.
Figo has the advantage of more power , more space and slightly more ground clearance. I would suggest go for freestyle to have best ground clearance if u r thinking about figo! Polo has the advantage of better looks, customisation friendly design, slightly better build than figo; double barrel headlamps instead of single in figo! Both cars are good and known for their handling plus steering feedback.
I do not feel knocking in first gear in my polo mpi! But i feel that more noisy is the characteristic of 3 cylinder engines and figo us same in this regard!
Simple and exalant review for any buyer to trust polo with comparison in the same segment brands and models . Consumption of fuel experience and service intervals stating apps cost wiil add more confidence for prospective buyers understand driving pleasure . In hill areas we mostly use upto 3rd gear. I have polo trendline I have experience hills/ghats with total 4 passenger including driver &, full of luggage uptop rear glasses as there is no tray. It performs well. If someone have budget of 9 & needs more power then TSI might suits them. On paper it 76HP & 95 torque as campared to 1.2 which having 110.
Both are good and it is really tough to decide out of these two! I can only tell whats better in each than the other one: Plus for freestyle: 1) high GC : u will never have to fear any bad road! Best go anywhere hatchback in india! 2) transparent and low service costs 3) more spacious and practical than polo 4) factory fitted reverse camera thats missing in polo 5) 6 airbags and ARP in an 8 lac rupee car is just amazing! Pluses of the polo 1) turbo engine makes it the sports car of hatchbacks! U wanna race, go for polo tsi only! 2) interior quality feels a bit premium than freestyle. 3) slightly more sturdy body shell than freestyle Things that are equal in both: 1) high speed stability 2) cornering fun 3) steering feedback 4) brings smile to ur face !
It can go upto 150 or 160 max but that’s not what this engine is meant for! Now vw have launched tsi in their comfortline variant which is just 1.3 lacs more than trendline! If great performance at speed is what you are looking for, then it makes more sense to buy the comfortline tsi!

A lot of people have gone ladakh in polo! Polo highline will go easily over speedbreakers and bad roads. But considering the use case of river crossings with heavy stones, underbelly of your car can get scratched andu need to decide how much u r ok with that! Also the popo bumper is a bit extended one and that might scratch too in extreme offroad conditions. Considering this factor of scratching the bumper, underbelly compact SUVs clearly have edge like vitara brezza, sonet, venue. There is no guarantee that venue/sonet/brezza and other suvs wont get scratched from underbody because roads and terrain can be extreme while going to leh, spiti valley and in those situations even TharS can barely survive the underbody scratching! So in nutshell, u can definitely take polo to ladakh, be ready for bad roads and drive with patience to tackle those patches and preventing ur car! But taking polo for long drives is more than worth because The fun of driving that u get in polo(even when u drive slow) is incomparable to any other hatchback/ sedan/suv ! My polo is trendline mpi and it has low Power and torque, bit i still enjoy driving my polo a lot more than my venue dct!
Get it tuned and change BMC air filter. It will be quicker than i20 and swift petrols. I have an 1.2 tuned one. It churns out 85bhp dyno tested. Must tell the mid range is amazing like a diesel powered car now!

But I need touch screen, so I asked showroom, they said we will install blaupunkt 350 touch screen with rear camera, cost of 17k. Is reasonable price or I need to go for another brand..can u suggest me plz.. If u need my CL audio system, I ready to sell. Liked your review but spares parts are costly, remain unavailable and have poor resale value . Three cylinder engines are noisy and shaky . Ford too used 3 cylinder but it's very smooth. Figo , freestyle or Ecosport have awesome handling character.

new polo offers 95 Nm torque and still u dont call it under power car !!!! Cost of spare parts: No matter how well you drive, some time other party can smash you car. Even you are driving with 100% assurance that you are not going to hit any thing then also there are multiple other expenses which are not covered in routine expenses. Which are a) Insurance cost. b) Tyre replacement cost. Tubeless tyre generally require replacement after puncture untill and unless you are using mushroom patch. c) Battery: Depending on usage battery will last for 2.5 to 4 years. That requires replacement. d) Sometimes rims also changes, if you impact a deep pothole at high speed. e) Bumpers. f) Tail lights (If someone hits on back). g) Windshield develops scratches after 7 to 8 years. i) Clutch plates g) Steering columns, sometimes h) Sock absorbers Therefore please get an idea of it before hand. 5. I am not that fan of turbo engines are turbos require a replacement and they are very expensive to replace. Turbo also don't provide linear power delivery I mean to say turbo kickin (starts) after certain RPMs which varies from model to model or manufacturer to manufacturer but as an example say 2000, till 2000 rpm it will be just like MPI after crossing that line then turbo kicks in
yes, I am very open to admit that but point is that under/over powered is such a generic and subjective requirement! calling a car under or overpowered is exactly like calling a person rich or poor because everyone has his/her own definition of rich/poor. just know yourself and then decide what is over/underpowered for you accordingly because for some folks, even the polo Highline Plus TSi is underpowered and they do stage 2 tuning of their tsi engine to make that even more powerful. I won't agree that 1.0 MPI is best engine. I'm having polo MPI 1.0 2018 high line plus.. Its obvious it is underpowered vehicle which was not at all worth for 8.5L spent. This is smoothier for only two passengers with AC off condition. Kindly don't expect more engine power. Go for another rival competition. Of course this is stable and smoothier for one person drive. "So much lag and under power vehicle"

calling a car under or overpowered is exactly like calling a person rich or poor because everyone has his/her own definition of rich/poor.
just know yourself and then decide what is over/underpowered for you accordingly because for some folks, even the polo Highline Plus TSi is underpowered and they do stage 2 tuning of their tsi engine to make that even more powerful.

I won't agree that 1.0 MPI is best engine. I'm having polo MPI 1.0 2018 high line plus.. Its obvious it is underpowered vehicle which was not at all worth for 8.5L spent. This is smoothier for only two passengers with AC off condition. Kindly don't expect more engine power. Go for another rival competition. Of course this is stable and smoothier for one person drive. "So much lag and under power vehicle"
Is 1200cc tiago better than this 1.0 mpi engine for driving aspect... Pls do let me know
