- Political scientists Yogendra Yadav and Suhas Palshikar wrote to the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) earlier this week, reiterating their demand for removal of their names from NCERT’s textbooks.
Yadav and Palshikar - former chief advisors for NCERT’S political science textbooks for classes 9 to 12 - have threatened legal action if their names are not deleted from the textbooks, their latest letter to NCERT chief D.P. Saklani said.

Yeah same; I really ended up loving the NCERT History and Political Science books in classes 9 and 10. I had PCM afterwards but now as a STEM sophomore, I plan to go back and read the 11th and 12th standard books.

अगर सिर्फ अच्छी-अच्छी बातें बतायें या यों कहे कि पूरा सच न बताये तो इतिहास की वहीं गति होगी जो पाकिस्तान में हुई। पाकिस्तान में जब बच्चे बड़े होते है और उसे इन्टरनेट के जरिए सच का पता चलता है तो उनका पुस्तकों पर से भरोसा उठ जाता है।

ऐतिहासिक विषयों पर लिखते समय झूठ का सहारा लेना राजनेताऔ के लिए ठीक हो सकता है मगर देश के लिए नहीं।

शिक्षा का मतलब विषयों का मूल्यांकन ही होना चाहिए, चीजों को परखना ही शिक्षा एक माधयम हो सकती है, विभिन्न विचारों को तुलनात्मक रुप में जॉचने परखने के लिए शिक्षा को महत्व दिया गया जिससे समॉज निर्माण का विस्तार सभय और असभय के रुप में देखने का काम हो रहा है।

Still much needs to be done in a palatable way, the example of oral histories which are apart from the royal historian and their book collection written by royal elite like in the recent book I read of South Asia Ocean Studies and Colonial Past which mentioned by own city Bhavnagar, Gujarat and How we still think in terms of colonial kingly pride and eurocentric notion around our oceans in general nation format and missing what we actually did during those time their was inter state trade not just the Silk Road stories. During earlier times History books glorified invaders. There was only passing reference to Cholas who ruled for 2000 years. There was no mention of Ahom dynasty which defeated the Moghul invaders. Modi is leveraging this Hinduphobia. Unbiased History should be introduced in schools
