AOB has been blessed throughout his career with training the best bloodstock. With the death of GALILEO both himself and Coolmore will not find it so easy to dominate the classics as they have done in recent years.
City of Troy's run at Newmarket was 2 bad to be true unless he hasn't trained on. The only way to know for sure is to watch at Epsom. Aiden may still win the race mind you. He has other entries and have run good trials last week. Los Angeles to name but one.
Totally agree the tech helps to make informed decisions, put out as much information as possible for punters 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤ Aidan will get City right , he knows best his record proves it
At this stage everything is still possible with COT. He may prove himself to be a superstar, he may prove himself to be less than a superstar, or he may never run again and we'll just have Aidan's words and the money that's come for him to do the talking for him. As for Longfellow, nobody to blame there. He just never got a run and that can happen in France.
time will tell.he may not have trained on but maybe he will win derby, so i feel its reasonble to hold fort, its won bad run but it happens all the time, shocks in racing, notwithstanding how hyped he was.the derby will be fasinating and it appears he is favourite
City of Troy is a group 1 horse. If Aiden has faith in the horse, just look at his record. Aiden is first and foremost a gentleman, on the course and off it and that's from personal experience over a lot of years. His wife is very sociable and friendly and does her bit for the whole operation. Joseph and Donnacha are dual top class jockeys, more than equal to their peers. To me, COT is the derby winner, handmade for the twists and turns of Epsom.
One thing for sure, Aiden is a gentleman. More so than a few stuck up trainers that I could mention. Obviously you couldn't be optimistic about COT after the Guineas, but I hope that COT smashes that Derby field, for no other reason than for Aiden. Despite everything he has kept his faith in the horse, and I for one hope Aiden can lead him into the winners enclosure at Epsom, with a wry smile on his face.
City of Troy would need to win at Epsom to prove that he really is top class. If he gives another poor performance then it will prove that he hasn't trained on. The one Aidan O'Brien horse that ran a brilliant Classic trial is Ylang Ylang. I really think she will go close in the Oaks.
Will be interesting to see how many Aiden will enter in Derby. If he thinks COT is still the real deal he wont be mob handed like the past. I stand corrected but he said similar things about August Rodin last year and i think was his only runner.
I have always been a fan of Aidens for many years however when Auguste Rodin failed in the guineas and again at Meydan then COT also doing something similar along with Henry Longfellow I just start to wonder if these horses are just not fit enough to do themselves justice on the track. Yet Los Angeles was having his first run and won a shade cosiliy. Also Rubies are Red was clearly held well back and came with a rare old rattle towards the end. From a RACE FORM point of view we dont really know where we are if we ignore all the words that have been said and just watch the performances then I am kind of scratching may head a bit. I am very wary of anything that is odds on or a well backed favourite as the stats show they are dreadful.
Aidan spends too much time selling the horses stallion potentials. He will say oh this horse is doing 10 and 12 second furlongs at home blah blah blah for all of his greatness it's hard to tell if it's the trainer or salesman speaking
City Of Troy is just another of AOB "best horse I've trained" flops. No chance in the derby. He's a midget. AOB has never trained a great flat horse, as in a Frankel, See the Stars type great. But not to worry come the Dewhurst there'll b another AOB "Best horse I've trained"
Um did you ever hear of a horse called er… Galileo… you know the one that sired the most winners 13 seasons in a row or something. Worth about 6 times Frankel or Sea the Stars??
Time for O’Brien to hand the reins over ! Best horse he ever had ! According to him! Every punter in Ireland should have laid city of Troy ! And Henry Longfellow! 27 runners and only 3 winners that was his record before the guineas
he is giving the best horses in the world every year and he will do his best to destroy them! City of Troy would have been unbeatable with a top trainer! Thank god he didn’t have frankel
@@michaelflynn5123 michael get real, his record is unmatched, have you came from mars or pluto, aidan is the most successful trainer that ever lived but he makes mistakes cause he is human but with his record, superhuman he could be called

I've totally been won over by Aidan O'Brien's praise of the horse. He wouldn't be this positive if the horse wasn't half decent

O'Brien can say what he wants and the fact he is entered for the Derby is a joke. It's obvious he hasn't trained on from 2 to 3

Moneys gone down so something must be showing,
Money was going down a day later and he wouldn't have done anything for a few days after that Guineas.

Aidan has a few runners in the Derby and if Ryan is going to stick with City of Troy he's got to be special
