Thanks that’s my goal with the content I’m making now is for starting the game as a new/returning player that hasn’t played in a long time and needs a refresher. Later as I progress in the game I’ll make videos on mid game and end game content.
Its easy to get a base for Spirit. Go to normal cows and kill cows until they drop a crystal sword. Take it to Larzuk in act 5 and have him add sockets. As long as it drops from a cow in normal difficulty (not a chest) it will always give you four sockets with Larzuk. Cube socket recipe is a 50/50 chance at 4 sockets I think.
Should mention that spirit shields are significantly harder to get than spirit swords. You can easily make a spirit sword at nightmare countess. On the other hand, getting the base for a spirit shield requires hell.
Yeah except for paladins can get a 4 socket shield early on even in Normal. I forgot to mention it in this video but in my starting class guide I did put that info in there.
@@The_D_Cast Yep, got a couple of those for my pally. But for regular 4 socket shields, or1-h weapons and polearms with more sockets, it seems that one of my characters will need to hit hell and do a bunch of farming for runeword bases. Which kinda modifies the description ”early”. Oh, well.
@@themidnightace8295 spirit is relatively early, insight isn’t too hard to get runes but a good base will be harder to find in hell. Stone I think has higher runes in it and a good base will be found in hell as well.
When doing these videos, you should socket these runewords in the best items whose required level is at or below the runeword's required level. Kinda ticks me off seeing a 20-level runeword in a 60-level item.
Great video. I see a lot of content on the high tier items, but this is nice for the D2R return!

Yeah or a broadsword. I covered that as well in my top 3 starter character guide.
Or longsword
I'm lvl 50 half way through nightmare. Such a noob I still dont own one rune word lol. Crushing nightmare tho
that was so useful thank u!!!
Great guide, thanks a lot!
Hi all, noob question - can I forge a STEEL "TIR EL" on a 2 socket claw-class weapon?
As far as I can tell it won’t but let me know if you try it.
No you can't. Steel is only for swords, makes and axes.
Try malice that might be a more achievable claw rune word
Leaf also should work for the Holy Fire Aura of the Paladin, i´m just not sure whether he can wield staffs.
Yeah any class can wield a staff.

Leaf also good for Fire Trap Assassin.
Honor is beyond great for Nightmare, and if you put it in a 15% ED Phase Blade, you can beat Hell with it if your other gear is decent.
AMN+TIR dosn't work on a war hammer...any weapon u said? :P
You sure? It says any two socket melee weapon.
@@The_D_Cast He is right i placed it on a war hammer and it didn't work. I can send a photo if needed.
@@warpig372 good to know the wiki might be incorrect then.
It’s kinda tricky to get a four socket shield in early game though. And a four socket scepter with good bonuses is rally rare.
For Paladin it is possible but every other class not until elite monarch shield.

Best runes for Emilio?Merc? Also good ones for a Druid or Amazon?
Insight is great for merc, so is ethereal stone armor. Druid spirit is great and lore. Not as sure about Amazon though.
@@The_D_Cast Thank you so much and are these early game runes?

How did you get 80 res on ancient's pledge?
He did the runeword on a palading shield that already has resistance on it
I have a barb to nightmare and it suckssssss. I forgot about rune words havent picked up any runes on normal opps
need resists
Can these be used on non ladder characters?
Yes they made it so that ladder runewords are enabled on non ladder in d2 resurrected.
Troll Nest shield with 4 os? Hero editor I guess?
I think back in 1.08 they could have 4 sockets.
@@The_D_Cast Insane, didn't know
Play on speed 1.5-2x for best experienxe
I haven't found a 4 socket war scepter yet my luck is horrible lol
You forgot the 2 socked Bow :P
Edge? Good for every class if you like to gamble.
@@snarfsnarfff No, Edge has 3 sockets. I am talking about 2 socket bow, i forgot the name. Orth-Eth Runes.
@@goshu7009 Zephyr.

The game wasn’t released yet when I made the video so was limited in what images I had.
If you can even log in heh
I was the 420th like! Haha!
Nice
Troll nests can't have 4 sockets.
In an older version of the game they could.
these bases were fucking gross
your bases are ridiculous! You should war the new players.
