thanks for the review!! I find it just truly shocking that this doesn’t support bluetooth or sony’s cloud streaming, hopefully if there’s enough outcry or poor sales they can do some over the air updates to fix these shortcomings.

Cloud streaming will come, that's only a software update away. But it's not time for that right now. Sony will decide when it is time.

Works flawlessly for me just need to properly setup and configure your wifi network to make it work. Ethernet cable to Ps5 is a must, then 5.8ghz broadcast just for the ps5, everything else on 2.4ghz, and a cheap wifi mesh to eliminate dead zones. You cant expect ps5 internals inside a 500g device for 200 bucks. If you’re butthurt buy the OLED steamdeck for 2k .

Attach your portal to your phone hotspot and then use ps5 browser to connect to coffee shop wifi.

The PlayStation Portal seems really neat, and I might think about maybe picking one up someday too for my PS5 game console once I think it over some more and all. I'm also glad to know that I can even be able to sign into my PSN account manually on the PlayStation Portal with just an e-mail and password combo like I do on the PS5 from what I've been told since I don't have to necessarily scan the QR code and all to sign in which is really nice. Even though it's 2024 now already, and a lot of people usually scan QR codes nowadays for almost everything since it's the way of the future and all, I'm just not really into that sort of thing myself. Personally, I'm actually more of an old-fashioned kind of person since I still do certain things like it's 2003 or something almost being that I've just been so used to doing everything the old-fashioned way and whatnot over the years even though I'm just saying from my own opinion and all. I'm not really used to all of this new technology and whatnot myself even though I still like them anyway.

sounds like you might as well buy a small screen and a cut a ps5 controller in half and you could get the same experience haha. Def not a product for me but it looks pretty cool.

Love my Portal. But their streaming tech is pretty behind the competition.

I just thought of asking this since I was just wondering, but can you also sign into your PlayStation Network account manually on the PlayStation Portal using just an e-mail address and password for PSN like you can on the PS5? I was just wondering though since I actually don't really scan QR codes myself being that I'm just not into that sort of thing. Even though this is 2023, almost going into 2024 now, I'm kind of an old-fashioned person and all since I still do certain things like it's 2003 almost or something.

I just tried it out and during the QR portion you can select "Sign In Manually" which leads to the familiar email/password combo.

@@CheeseTurbulence That's good to know then and thanks so much for letting me know too! I really appreciate it since I was just wondering myself being that I also just sign into PSN on my PS5 console with just an e-mail and password combo that way. I know that this is 2024 now and all, and a lot of people mostly scan QR codes for almost everything nowadays, but I'm just not really into that sort of thing though since I'm more of an old-fashioned kind of person myself. I still do things like it's 2003 almost since I still do certain things a lot of people would have done 20 years or so in the past and I've always just been so used to doing everything that way too. Thanks again though for taking the time to answer my question in my previous comment post and I really appreciate it as well. Happy New Year!

@@CheeseTurbulence Hi there again. I actually have another question about something that I was just wondering about, and I just thought of asking you about it in case if you might happen to know anything about it even though it's about something else. I have an e-mail account that I apparently use which is my primary e-mail account even though it hasn't been hacked or anything, and it shouldn't have been either, but for some reason, my e-mail account that I usually use has been receiving large amounts of spam and junk mail in my Junk folder pretty much just about every single day and this has also been going on for me now for quite a while since this actually started several months ago back around May or June sometime for me. It's also still an ongoing problem for me so far and it's really annoying too at times. I was just wondering if you might happen to know why that is. Why am I receiving so much spam mail like that and is there a way to completely stop it for good, if possible? I just thought of asking and I would appreciate if you would be able to answer my question the best you can. It also seems like the more I try to block the junk e-mails and delete them, and the more I keep reporting them, the more and more of them I keep getting even though I usually try to ignore and block as much of the spam mail as I possibly can and I even try not to respond to them either since that would just make things a lot worse for myself if I happen to do so. Again, there's nothing wrong with my e-mail account that I use since I can still sign into it just fine and everything and there shouldn't be anything wrong with it either. Thanks for understanding though and thanks for taking the time to read my comment post as well.

Seems like only yesterday I was lucky enough to get a PS5 at launch. Yet we are almost at the midway point of the cycle, and I’m still waiting for Next-Gen games. TBH I don’t see much difference between today’s games and those of 5-10 years ago. Sony & MS really need to start making Next-Gen games. The Portal captures the essence of gaming today, all sizzle -no steak. I can see this thing collecting dust in 1-2 months. Pass.
