- The Monday after admitting his feelings, John Paul wants to explain properly to Craig, but Craig doesnt want to listen. Eventually, John Paul gets Craig alone in a classroom and they discuss what happened at the party. John Paul believes he can switch his feelings off, and wants things to return to normal.

the moment where Craig pushes the door closes is such a huge show of acceptance, nervousness and love. the way his body is shaking, i want JP to hold him.
I love how closed off Craig is being, so awkward about it...but when JP tries to leave he won't let him. The way he says "I don't want you to go" says so much. And they were standing awfully close for just mates...I think Craig has already realized he likes JP too, at least a little bit more than mates should, and he's already trying to sort out his feelings which was why he was being extra weird and distant, but also didn't want him to leave. Ugh, they're so in love it hurts.
Wow so much passion and angst between just "mates" in the classroom.

This is were Craig realizes how much he truly likes JP as a mate and his fear of loosing his best mate. From now on his feeling start to change to a stronger emotional attachment to JP. During this scene JP sates he can hold in check his feeling and Craig ask " You can do that?" In 110 Craig remembering this comment by JP believes that JP can and ask" How can you make yourself stop loving someone?"
My heart literally hurts for JP. The way he desperately insists that he can hide his feelings and carry on with the way things were, it's heartbreaking to know thats how much he would do for Craig. JP was always to modest for his own good.

I pretty much had the same situation as JP, almost exactly. It was really hard and every time he talks about someone I mean the girl that he loves, I always pretend that they are great together. He's the reason why I love going to school and at the same time the reason why I cry every night hoping that my love for him will go away. I can't stop loving him because he was so sweet to me and he always make me laugh. Thankfully now it's over. I guess that's just love and life.
Oh John Paul you trying to deny your feelings for Craig was never gonna work.
Your head may have been saying it was never going to be for you and Craig but your heart just wouldn't let go but it felt this strong connection between you both.
Craig your head may have not wanted to have any attraction towards your 'best mate' but your soul knew it had found it's mate for life.
The art scene is just so brilliant cos we see that is the start of something between them even if they don't realise it

I just love this scene so much and watching again you get to pick things you hadn't notice or thought of before.
Craig is now sensing something different about their relationship that he was not conscious of before but now he is this is when he starts going into denial. He says he can't be JP's friend but as soon as JP says so as well in that moment he can not give him up.
As for John Paul he also goes into denial, trying to dismiss any feelings he has for Craig, continue to be with hannah

The acting is damn good!
This is actually the hardest scene for me to watch in the entire JP/Craig storyline. Hearing John Paul desperately trying to convince himself that it can all be just like it used to is so heartbreaking!
Okay noticed something else! Notice how Craig yells at Sarah that kissing someone when your drunk is no excuse! But then his defense when he kisses Jp at the dance is that he was drunk!
Even in the beginning Craig found the fact that he had a problem with John Paul more important then Sarah
watching this clip after all these years making think that craig was thinking thath he could switch off his feelings as well.

John Paul's confession has heightened their connection and awareness of each other that they didn't really understand before.
Try as they can to make out everything will be the same between them they know deep inside of themselves that it's all change.
But both can't really see at this time that it will be the love affair of their lives

Straight people can never, ever understand how badly gay people can hurt. Anybody gay watching this in 2019: DON'T FALL IN LOVE WITH A STRAIGHT GUY. HE CANNOT FEEL THE WAY YOU DO. Even if he loves you. I know this from bitter experience.

All Sarah did was kiss her ex-boyfriend whilst drunk - I think whether he was gay or straight Craig finding our that his best friend was gay and had a major crush on him was quite a shock to say the least - and would beat the Sarah thing in most situations.
What would you imagine would be the top of your mind when you wake up the next morning?

I'm in exactly the same position as Craig atm, and now that i know how it feels I completely understand his anger at JP for telling him, whereas when I watched this before I used to just think he was being a dick. things like this awkward up a friendship, and it has nothing to do with being homophobic.
