Hey, I'm sorry, but you are wrong/mis-informed in this video (in my opinion). If you fill a 10g tank, take even a large foam filter and put it in, without conditioning the water, the choline has just killed all the BB on that filter. You are correct in saying this method works, but you've completely skipped the lesson about conditioning the water. Let's remember that most of the people watching these videos, are needing your expertise to help, I myself, have been in the hobby since the late 80s, and still learn new tricks (from you and others) to do, in keeping aquariums. Your videos are fantastic to watch, and please don't think I'm busting on you, I'm definitely not. But this video is miss-informing newbies, which could possibly have a disaster on there hands. Thanks for the videos, please keep them coming.

I've been in the aquarium hobby for over 50 years, have worked at and managed several fish stores and I still always learn something. Great info!

Ok so if it is essentially possible to over filter a tank, than it is possible to under filter a tank. So if someone like myself is having an issue like mystery snails laid eggs that hatched before I found them. So I now have betta tanks (from 3-10 gallons, & a 20 gallon snail only tank) all of which are well over stocked as in I have 300 in the 20 gallon, anywhere from 50-200 in my 5 & 10 gallon tanks. I have a total of 8 tanks. I have 2-3 different filters in most of them partially because the ones they sell with some of the kits have almost no water flow. I never intended on keeping all the snails, I just can't figure out how to get rid of them. I have all colors & there's so many ivory mystery snails I'm willing to giving them away to anyone who will take care of them. They are very interesting & a bunch of little escape artists. Lol.
I bought an established sponge filter on the 21st of Feb and got it on the 24 and put the filter in the tank run for a couple of days until I got a betta fish on the 27th of Feb. is that bad? Is the bacteria still alive ? I had to rush to buy a fish because someone told me I shouldn’t have left it running for that long without food and stuff but the seller told me to wait 3 days and then put the fish. So now I’m scared that it’s not cycled or maybe I did something wrong.

You got a new sub! I love when someone who is intelligent and calm and understanding. I'm so sick of going to fish stores and the owner is a snobby arrogant person. I'm only 1 year noon when it comes to tanks and I'm learning and experimenting what works for me. So when someone is willing to help in a friendly manner its a breath of fresh air.
