@@stevenkranowski5141 not necessarily I've heard japanese speak about other foreign countries like France, Italy and space. Anybody with brain can see the culture differences just by Media information alone.
Paul Prescott I am Japanese. In Japan, British (or Queen's) English had been commonly taught at secondary/upper schools some ten years ago, though very few Japanese were/are able to speak English fluently, regardless of whether it is British or American. Further, some Japanese admired the UK more than the US owing to several legendary rock bands. In fact, there were a lot of British/English wannabes in Japan those days. Some of them often looked down upon the US because she was a little bit cornball in various respects (I don't think so, but some did). Parliamentary regime, fundamental navy system of imperial Japan, railway system, transportation system (including left-hand traffic), various kinds of manufacturing industry, and so forth. Japan eagerly took the UK as our model. Above all, Japan owed victory for The Russo-Japanese War to the UK a lot. (As is well known, even curry was derived from the UK, not directly from India, though British cuisine itself is not very popular here in Japan on the whole) Thus, the UK had long been a good mentor of Japan. I have no intention to flatter the UK, but merely told the whole story. However, now that American power of capital takes over the whole world, people tend to yearn for the US consciously or subconsciously. Indeed, so-called American culture including something frivolous is dominant in the world now. Then, .....
@@lupimali9504 thank you for the information. I didn't realise they studied British English I aways thought it was American English. As for legendary rock bands that the UK gave to the world. Especially bands like Queen and Led Zeppelin. As for the Japanese to admiring the UK in which you describe I find it fascinating. Im hoping to come and work in Japan this year in April. Thank you. The information you gave me was well valid 😁
@@paulprescott4904 It's my pleasure, my friend. As for British English we studied before, Japanese of fifty or so and upwards will double "l" in spelling some words such as "travelling, cancelling, modelling" even now. (some still add an extra "u" to such words as "color, rumor, humor," and I myself do that from time to time) There were many enthusiastic fans of Queen, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple or The Who as a matter of course. When all is said, however, the best two was Beatles and Rolling Stones in then Japan. As for the Beatles, especially, it might be said that they have become a myth from a mere legend for older generations in Japan now, though the younger may know little of them (among the young here in Japan, One Direction was much more popular, I guess). In any case, traditional fans of the Beatles in Japan seem fanatic rather than enthusiastic even in this century. Anyway, when you come and work in Japan, you will be most welcomed!

Its not just me right?
Damn it. I want to see Cathy-swan being sexy. Director-swaaaan, put some sexy clothes for Cathy-swaaan. 🤣😂
You should ask Japanese what they think of the UK 🇬🇧. The birthplace of the English language, the rich history and culture.
There's more to the world than just 'the USA' 😜😉
Well, America is closer than the UK is to Japan geographically, so Japanese opinions on the rest of the Western world would probably be a little harder to come by.
@@stevenkranowski5141 not necessarily I've heard japanese speak about other foreign countries like France, Italy and space.
Anybody with brain can see the culture differences just by Media information alone.

I am Japanese.
(As is well known, even curry was derived from the UK, not directly from India, though British cuisine itself is not very popular here in Japan on the whole)
Thus, the UK had long been a good mentor of Japan.

It's my pleasure, my friend.
As for British English we studied before, Japanese of fifty or so and upwards will double "l" in spelling some words such as "travelling, cancelling, modelling" even now. (some still add an extra "u" to such words as "color, rumor, humor," and I myself do that from time to time)
There were many enthusiastic fans of Queen, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple or The Who as a matter of course.
Sorry to say sweets here in North America are just too sweet, too much sugar. 🙁🙁🙁
True, but kind of better than the alternatives that some have been making.
Can you please put subtitles in your videos so we know what the people are saying.
You can turn them on manually
What? They have always had subtitles
evilpac17 can’t turn on subtitles on an iPhone.
@@nofrackingzone2.057 If you have the RUclips application you can. Use the 3 dots.
Oh crap i didn't know that.
What's good about USA? Nothing...
