To add a comment, if the grid goes down, I have bought books, puzzles, starting new hobbies, and bought a battery operated DVD player for entertainment, to keep me sane. Little things will help. Church and friends are also a great part of prepping.
Love your ideas. Where did you get a battery powered DVD player? I got a ton of DVD’s used from the thrift store. Will have more time to watch movies if no power!
I needed this video. A cat turned on my kitchen tap (faucet) the other night @ 0200 and my dogs went nuts. My wife thought there was someone in the house and I had to run downstairs to take them on. I was totally unprepared to take on an intruder (or a cat)
One item we spend some time on within our little group is how we handle stress, small disasters and bad situations in the here and now. Does a vehicle that cuts you off in traffic or a line cutter at the store ruin your day, raise your blood pressure?--then you better get that under control b/c SHTF will be much, much worse. Already five minutes late for work, you go out into the garage to find a flat tire or dead battery and it sends you off seeing red?--again, it needs working on b/c TEOTWAWKI will be hundreds times worse and last a lot longer. I'm not suggesting yoga just suggesting that it's something to work on, keep in mind and it really does come down along with one's blood pressure and negative outlook on things.
People who have their well-stocked bunkers tend to forget about cabin fever. A lot of people who bragged about their bug-out shelters lost their doo-doo during the COVID lockdowns.
I just started reading classic fiction & I gotta say, Mark Twain is a blast to pass time with lol. We’ve been getting a ton of the oldies dirt cheap at yard sales. Lots of fun. 😊
There's a fiction series called the Nantucket Trilogy in which the island is transposed in time and cut off from everything it has known. The first book mentions the mental struggles everyone has, lots of suicides, and losing the will to live. So it's just not about losing technology but as you said the will to live. i have a lot of cheap yarn, so for crafts and good use I can make gloves, socks, blankets, and so on.
Thank you so much for this video and information. Everyone needs to be prepared for anything that might happen. It might be an illness, job loss, or whatever. Having a clear head will help. I strongly believe that 2020/2021 was a test run.
One of the best things you can do is begin acclimating to abnormal and uncomfortable environments and/or situations. The worst is getting caught off guard in a foreign situation.
@diypreppertv Least I could do. Thank YOU brother. Your time and effort are surely not futile! (Probably saving a life or 2 a week if your subscribers pay attention!) 🙏🏼 🇺🇸🫡
jr, I agree! I think you have to have time to think, re-set, and take time to access your preps and primarily spend time off. I've been guilty lately of hoping I don't live long enough if things continue to go sideways. I've had to find things I enjoy and take my mind off fear. You're doing great! I pass out when I feel extreme fear. 🥴 We were in the mall taking our kids to see Santa years ago. We heard what sounded like a machine gun. Everyone started running. People left their bags and ran. I got lightheaded and felt faint. My husband, being a police officer, knew it wasn't a gun and just sat there looking at the runners. He said it wasn't a gun. It ended up being a broken ice machine at one of the food vendors. Guess I just faint under extreme stress. 😅

Been there many times
My daughter performed there multiple times as well
She has been performing since around 12 years old. She is 22 now
She has sung with all the best singers on in musical theatre in many Broadway shows
She’s sung with Idina Menzel, Sara Bareilles so many I can’t even name them
She was truly born with a god given talent
I recognized it in her when she was as young as 7 and I would play guitar for her to fall asleep at night
It all started when I caught her singing to herself in the mirror when she was 7
She started winning contests within 3 years
Sang Idina Menzels frozen at 11 without ever taking a voice lesson, nailed it and won first place
One of the judges, a Juliard trained voice coach with three Grammys took her under her wing and taught her for free that’s how good she was
They are still best of friends the two of them to this day
I always told my daughter growing up that talent is distributed evenly but opportunity is not
That what she had was a god given talent and it was her obligation to share it with the world
And so she has
My son, at 19, has perfect pitch plays guitar and has already recorded music on several well known bands albums and makes his own music which has caught the ears of such players as John Mayer and others
My oldest son is the youngest digital editor of People Magazine a truly talented writer after his mother
I am surrounded by talent I’m just too deaf to appreciate it like I wish I could now 🤦♂️
That’s ok, I know the part my life was to play now
I was never meant to be what they have become
I was meant to be the one to support their passions and contribute to their successes
I’m good with god on this
