Gibson USA Les Paul Studio Faded: Reduced-Weight Chamber Body, Reduced-Cost Rockin' (Video)

- If you don't want to own an American-made Les Paul. . . well dang, you're just not an American. Of course, if you are an American, you're probably also hard up on cash. Never fear: the Gibson USA Les Paul Studio Faded is every bit a legitimate Les Paul, from its Burstbucker Pro pickups to its comfy, chunky neck to its carved-maple top.
Owen tests the LP Studio Faded out in the Gearwire studio with a Vox AC15C1 at various levels of gain saturation, then feeds these high-output pickups through a T.Rex Totenschläger modern-gain stompbox. There's nary a rock-step the Les Paul Studio Faded misses. Видеоклипы
You've really got me re-evaluating my opinion towards the Studio. Thanks dude.
I have a 2010 faded studio, and I dearly love it !
Oh my god, Title and Registration and I Believe In A Thing Called Love in one video? I love you Owen
I like how you keep the guitar at the right hight, instead of having it swung way down low.
just picked up this guitar at a show and just got to say its amazing. super easy to play and ive just skimmed the surface on what this incredible instrument can do
I belive in a thing call love!! Just look into the rhythem of my heart.. I love that song and the riff
great video,dude!
I have a similar amp/axe combo. Same guitar, but with an AC30C2 and a Blues Jr. Great guitar for the price and much lighter than the more costly Les Pauls. Great demo!
thank you for playing Death Cab
Thanks for another great demo. I just picked up one of these in faded cherry at my local guitar center on clearance for $599. They actually had a black one for $560. Overall, I am very happy with the guitar; however, there are a few things to point out: the body is not a solid hunk of mahogany. Mine is 2 pieces glued together, just like the Chinese copies you see. The plastic is also super cheap. No grain at all to the top. But its a real LP & plays like it, so I am not complaining.
I just paid 500 somehow for one nowadays 500 buck gibbys are gone sadly. Such awesome guitars
I love mine!
My kind of reviewer !!!
@guayabian Bob Marley played a Les Paul Special. It has two single coil P90 pickups, and is a flat top with no maple cap. They have a similar outline, but they're very different guitars.
love your mustache
I believe in a thing called love!
Daniel martinez moreno just listen to the rhythm of my heart.
The best Les Paul. Light weight and plenty of punch.
whats the song played at the beginning? I forgot the name...
@classicrockonly I have one of these, and I can see what you mean about it sounding a bit thin. However, I guess it comes down to what style you play. I play Indie style that utilizes vintagey tones, so it's not a real hardcore power riff style. It is great for that. The Burstbuckers have something to do with it, too. They're lower output than say the 498/490 combo I have in my Gibson LP Special Faded, which is a scorching rocker. Hell of a deal for the money, though.
@guayabian The originals are very rare today, but there are a few very similar guitars that you can buy brand new. You might want to look into the "Gibson Les Paul Jr. Special Exclusive", and the "Eastwood p90 Special"
Do you recommend me buy this guitar or a Gibson SG Standard?
hey, can this guitar sound like Angus Young (AC/DC), or Alex Lifeson (Rush)? I'm looking for that tone...
@antihax91 and it is impossible to buy it ?
It's a very comfortable guitar, 1 of the most comfortable I have played, but I just can't stand the chambered on a Les Paul because it just sounds too thin most times. Heck, my SG sounds heavier than it, same pickups too! Good guitar, but you need to search for a good one to get a meaty tone like an unchambered one. I give this guitar 8 of 10 just for the thinness of tone, unless you like that then go for it! It's a steal!
Are the Klusion tuners any good?
Please, what year is this guitar?
What's the title of the first song he played?
What is the first song he plays? I cant put my finger on What it is
Hell of an axe
2:00 and that is why I feel the need to buy a les paul
0:51 whats that song
is this the guitar that bob marley played with? or a based on model??
that seems like the same one I got just now 2016 Les Paul Studio Faded T work brown.
Check out and compare the New 2017 Model: poverty.medianewsonline.com/
Yes, I've seen it, glad I got mine when I did. I imagine it's still a great guitar but I like the way the 2016 looks much better. And aren't the pickups different too, not just the covers?
Yes, I believe so, 2016 has burst buckers they say are slightly overwound and 2017 has 490r and 490t humbuckers. I like the 2016 better myself.
I have a 2016 its got burstbucker pros. Though I'm pretty sure the 490r and 490t are well-loved by guitar players
@MrFirearcade hey ! guess what, i just bought it !
I got a '16 BROWN and next to a Les Paul STANDARD T, there was no difference, except the $1,700+Tax I kept off my Credit-Card. THESE GUITARS ROCK, the 2017's are a dissapointment....seems the '17 SG STANDARD's are the best value in 2017.
I bought this same one in 2008 I've only just got it setup as well as my home built strat. Save your money and get a gretsch.
@antihax91 thanks !
@MrFirearcade i think it is death cab for cutie...
Some sublime? Nice...
i have gibson les paul studo faded ans a epiphone les paul zakk wylde costum...i like the epi but i love gibson :)

nice demo
Sux. First off tune it. Second it’s chambered. Bring out a Vintage Mahogany. They sound better with weight relief. I can’t believe they let you play for Gearwire. You bite
THE GUITAR IS NOT EVEN IN TUNE OH MY GOD
こっちみんなw
Sip on your haterade and chill out, broseph....I'm just sayin'...LOL
it is out of tune and does not sound good at all.
Mete Sev watch again!!!
@TheMusiciansFriend lol you like emo
is there no one at gearwire that can play halfway decent and doesn't look like a basement-dwelling troll? He looks like a smelly NYC cab driver from 1974... I'm just sayin'... LOL
Vox Ac15 sounds like crap?! Oh man your comment sounds like crap...
it is anti demonstration tool
They big capos are fuckin useless.
i found my self hating crunch sound....or clean or metal....this midway dirty sound just isnt right for my ears, its disturbing .....
Love the guitar. Hate your amp.
I got that same guitar and it is the ugliest guitar I've ever owned. I could kick myself in the butt for buying it.
Alt rock, Indie Rock and Country bands all love the natural look. The cherry reds and firebursts are more used by glam rock bands. I personally love all the faded colours except black, it looks cheap to me. The faded Brown is awesome imo, but if you dont like it i doubt youll have trouble selling it on craigslist and buying another.
+thorn35 I 100% agree. The worn brown is super sexy. Same goes with the Worn Cherry..
your amp sounds like crap. i have this guitar and it sounds beautiful.
he is playing like crap
typical gear wire crap. can't even play his own licks...
