Thank you Dave for sharing with us. My trumpet is my go to call, the 1st one I use and most of the time the only one I use. When you walked up on that bird and patted it as it was dying and talking to it plum got me in the feels and I was beaming with pride knowing that I was witnessing the very essence of how I feel about chasing these grand ol birds, from the time I get out of the truck until I sit under the steering wheel again. Thank you sir, we owe you a debt of appreciation and gratitude.
Some people are born to be doctors, some teachers, some pastors, etc,etc..Sure you were born to be a turkey hunter!!. Like many have said you’re the best there is out there, at least for now anyway. May the Lord always keep you and protect you!!
Thank you sir. I'm merely a student of the wild turkey who is lucky enough to go to the woods each morning of the Spring fully prepared to loose the battle but danged determined to make him earn it. LoL
Late season, big hardwoods, public land gobblers, it doesn't get any better. Great hunt in a picturesque backdrop. Those rock outcroppings, scattered chestnut oaks, and steep hillsides can be found from Alabama to New York and represent classic eastern turkey habitat. A guy is never more alive than when he first sees a gobbler walk into view until the time he squeezes the trigger on a big eastern hardwoods tom. It's one of the best things in life in my opinion. Thanks for a great hunt Dave.
Not sure if its the microphone , but that trumpet doesn't sound great to my ear , but dang if the turkeys sure like what its saying . i'm with you on the trumpet thumping also . last 3 years they have been my near bout only call I hunt , just something special about them and the turkeys sure like when one gets run well . BTW I'm no Joe Slaton on one either , not by a long shot !!! But even I can get one to act right on occasion ... Let em have what they want Dave ....lol all the way to the gun .
👍👍👍 The willing to sit and wait them out, is extremely hard sometimes ! You did exactly what it took to outsmart that Alabama mountain gobbler and reap the benefits of a well deserved cigar !! Great hunt again Dave !! If it was as easy as you make it look we would have a major shortage of turkeys ! Thank you sir and keep em coming ! 👍👍
Dave, I got to say, the appreciation and respect you have for these 🦃 are second to none! I love watching every second of your videos because it’s almost like I’m right there with you. The way I hunt and the way you hunt are so much alike that it feels like I’m there. Hats off to you sir! I love chasing these Jackson County Alabama gobblers as much or more than anything else this world has to offer!!!!!!
Glade you heard the outstanding gobbling in Iowa, however, I enjoyed the one on one of this hunt. I thought I was the only one who would shoot the looker. Don't know for sure your motivations but my thinking is the strutter will gobble the next day. Tough hunts with work time required to hear the gobbles satisfies maximally.
Interesting how you yelp and cut with short runs of yelps but several sequences with some cuts. Man your awesome and fun to listen to with the mouth yelper. Great job 👍👍
Hey Dave........ I enjoy how you make your videos....... and I really enjoy not having to listen to all that frikkin music.... keep up the great videos and and busting them heads...... Blessings
It's hard for me to make deer hunting exciting enough to watch. If I get bored doing it, I can't imagine how terrible it would be to watch. But I do usually try. . . .
Really like the strategy you used on those birds. Keep up the vids you're doing a good job on teaching this old man to hunt turkeys on the left coast. Thank you!
Appears the trumpet may have contributed to their decision to move your way. Did you use your same home-brewed TSS load in the Winchester? If so, similar choke tube? BUT at 30-yds. not critical, just interested. Great hunt!
Dave, Only one word to describe You, Chubs and your videos. ( Authentic ). I don't know of anyone in any sport who has had that much success that is so humble and appreciative of his sport and of this magnificent bird. Please keep doing what you do for our sake as much as yours. So nice to see the way you take so much time at the end of the hunt to really celebrate that great bird and so often you thank Jesus for the blessings he has given you. I appreciate all of that very much! At 64 my eye sight isn't what it use to be. Could you tell me what size MOA dot you would recommend in a burris sight? Thanks so much for making us all better turkey hunters and even better people.
Thanks for sharing another great hunt on these smart AL turkeys ! You are making these crazy times more bearable.. gotta get my Dave fix as often as possible. God Bless and hope you and yours are doing well. PS Still trying to figure out how to send my video I made for you and Sleazy ?
Hey Dave!... why not do a video teaching some of those calls you use. I’ve always had trouble changing up with the mouth call. You sound great but that sharp fast call you do, I cannot duplicate

Dave’s absolute love and respect for turkeys inspires me

Dave watching you the past 2 years has taught me so much. The greatest thing for me is to savor the moment. Thanks for sharing
That Trumpet made the difference and got their feet moving instead of their beak moving. Congrats

Makes you wonder if your move broke them or the Trumpet! Maybe both! Another fine hunt Dave.

And I wish he did more deer hunting stuff but I want him to keep Courtney happy!
It's hard for me to make deer hunting exciting enough to watch. If I get bored doing it, I can't imagine how terrible it would be to watch. But I do usually try. . . .
Mighty fine hunt Dave, I can see your respect and love of this incredible bird when you walked up and patted on him and talked to him. Love it man!
what a hunt. loved watching them come to you. never knew you were there. awesome dave
Really like the strategy you used on those birds. Keep up the vids you're doing a good job on teaching this old man to hunt turkeys on the left coast. Thank you!
Well Dave you did it again. That second bird flew by close after the shot. Congrats on an awesome bird.
Now that Hunting. Dave I. Love. That good job
Great hunt! Really enjoyed it.
Great hunt. Way to stay on it! Big bird.
I wish I could purr and putt that good!! Good stuff. Come spring ‘21🦃
Gah thats the best feeling ever!!!!! Some people just dont get it!
You Sir, are a turkey calling machine.
That was a beautiful view !
To me that. Best hunt you had all year good Hunt

Yep. Same 1 5/8 oz load. Different choke which is way too tight. That gun needs a bit of tinkering.
Is that the ole Truglo SSX choke I see screwed into the business end of your backup gun???

Must be in Talladega or Bankhead NF.
What kinda boots are you wearing Dave?
This aint Iowa anymore Dave! 😅
Always amazed that a wingbone calls in a Turkey. 😂
Great Hunt👍🏻
Way to stick with them Dave! Did you switch cigars?
No Sir, always the Swishers.
I think I would have inspected that rock pile just a little longer before I sat. Looked a little snaky to me.
My dad gave me the same shotgun many moons ago. I need to dip it and hunt with it this year.
Did you and Chubs have a falling out or just practicing social distancing? Asking for a friend.
Life pulled us apart. We are no longer neighbors so it made hunting together difficult. We met up in Washington though. That's still to come.
I had been wondering the same exact thing. Glad to see it wasn’t what we thought.
What mouth call is that
Arch out for rattlesnake in those rocks..
Public land bullshit
The BEST turkey hunting show on the tube!!!
That is correct!!!!
