The "Credits" mention was super important so I researched it on Adobe and now understand what that means. I image LOTS of people using this new feature will not know about the credit limited since it's not "footnoted" within the LR tool.
Excellent learning video and introducing these amazing features now being brought into Lightroom. Thank you for the clear and clean presentation. Nnce work overall including the shots.
Unbelievably well performing tool and a complete game changer! Even the first example you chose to nitpick was still quite impressive (but I get your point being critical)
To remove people in the middle try to use rectangle or square selection not a human shape so therefore Lightroom will not try to replace the human with another human. That works with most cases.
If you select object aware, it fills in the erased outline So you think you’ll use Lightroom for the removal of strobes, stands and assistants vs taking plate shots to use in Photoshop?
Cool! Good question! If I have the time, I will still take the plate shots as I won't have to worry about how Generative AI will perform (especially if it is a complicated scene) and that is still best practice, but Generative AI is easily good enough to use on most smaller objects and no one would be able to tell. It is a fantastic update
A agree! Up to now I found Lightroom to be very unreliable when it comes to cloning but this has really changed things. Hopefully no more crazy selections now 😂
Great video - but sorry to say - if you make for instance four selections that are seperated from each other and use REmove AI at all of them at once, you'll be "charged" for four credits. I fixed a studio photo with 25 scrathes at the floor - that was an "expensive" way to use it.... But stil an amazing tool :) And if you use the Remove tool I PHOTOSHOP (not the fill but the remove) - which is almoust the same as en LRC - it does NOT cost a credit.... So there is still a reason to use Photoshop if you are running out of credits - even touht I would love not to...
Amazing video 👏 I upated mine 3 days ago and my lightroom classic has being freezing every 20mins or so. I don't know if it's a general problem or is just mine 🤷♂️
I would argue that the selection was not precise as Neil would have done in 'real world' and has generated a portion of the veil and thrown it out of focus
don't forget to mention this is a restricted use tool. You only get to use it so many times per month depending on your subscription then you have to wait until the end of your month for your usage rights to be refilled
Thank you very much! And good question, I assume you will receive a notification telling you that you must then wait until the following month for the credits to reset or you will be asked to pay for extra credits. But I am just guessing I'm afraid
@@NeilRedfern its on their website, it will still generate, but will go slower... waiting for someone to use all their credits to see how long it will take to generate when you are "out of credits"
@@NeilRedfern Hi Neil, I check junk and spam and even the deleted folder and nothing I'm afraid. Have dropped you a message on Instagram with my emails if you could perhaps resend link?
Honestly photoshop beta was great when it first came out, not it’s ridiculous. It’s like it doesn’t know anything and giving you weird results.and anything that shows more skin it doesn’t generate anything saying you violated their rules
you seem to have forgotten that it will only create 2000px x 2000px images, if you select such big subjects, its very low res and will show seems or blur. Like the first where you said its amazing, its just bad, its very unsharp, no more detail and looks out of focus, look at the seem of the moss. I would say it more worse then the sky... also credit wise, every not connected subject is another generative credit. Also with the sky one, your selection was tighter around the pole in photoshop, less to generate, higher resolution, the more you select from an area, the more "blurier" it will become... try again in LR with a more tighter selection, will do a lot better for sure...
Oddly enough you did not share the fact one must send the creation to adobe's creative cloud to use this feature, thus giving adobe total access to their work.
By stating "oddly enough you did not share" makes it sound like it was intentional? I assume you are referring to the updated 'terms of use' issue, which I didn't even know about when making this video because the controversy happened two weeks *after* I published this video.
Just wanted to share one of my experiences: When you use Generative AI inside a mask it does often produce weird results. I found this out when i masked the sky and slighty enhanced the color of it. After that, I wanted to delete some antennas in the sky (we all know that sky masking is not so accurate at times) and it was very hard to remove them. I then deleted the sky masking and after the antennas could easly be removed. Now I always use this function before I do any masking.
The "Credits" mention was super important so I researched it on Adobe and now understand what that means. I image LOTS of people using this new feature will not know about the credit limited since it's not "footnoted" within the LR tool.
I agree, for some reason it just seems to have gone under the radar

Updated yesterday, yes it is wonderful to see them in Lightroom.
Hey Niel, I'm learning a lot from you!! Great content as always..🎉
Thank you so much, I really appreciate your support
At 10:30 I use the select subject tool in PS to make quick selection of removing people or removing things around people.
So is there a limit in how much we can remove before we have to pay for the remove tool??? This video was very helpful. Thank you
To remove people in the middle try to use rectangle or square selection not a human shape so therefore Lightroom will not try to replace the human with another human. That works with most cases.
Indeed so, yes.
This will save so much time not having to send images to Lightroom, fix the photos and then export! Exciting update!
I totally agree, it's a brilliant update and a real time saver!
Such an amazing update and super helpful video. Excited to start using my credits!
Thank you! And sorry for spending so much time erasing you in this video 😂😆
Is it free for personal use?
Hmm, mine does not work like this at all. It struggles pretty badly and my menu looks different. I dont have as many options.
hello
I can see the option on my Lightroom - any advice please?

Awesome video on it, thanks for sharing buddy.
Thank you very much!
It's been curious to see the AI elements in PS and LR. They still seem to have moments of madness but are getting to be really useful tools!

Thank you! Sorry to hear you have had problems, I haven't experienced that myself. Hopefully it sorts itself out for you soon
does AI works for Light Room classic?
It seems that it's low res, if you look at Darcie's veil that you caught on the first image.
I would argue that the selection was not precise as Neil would have done in 'real world' and has generated a portion of the veil and thrown it out of focus
So helpful. Thank you

Did you actually watch the video? 😂 he mentions it twice. And the second time pretty extensively
wrong, you can still generate, just slower... How much slower, i dont know, cant find anyone tested it yet
Very good and well explained. This is definitely a game changer.
Thank you very much George
what happen when you use all the credits, I won't be able to use this tool? SuperB video Neil, top quality .

Side effect: on META platforms, every image even with the smallest tweak use of generative IA will be labeled as IA generated.
Ooh really? I didn't know that but I am pleased to hear that. Thank you for letting me know
You can remove that very easily !!
@@nelsonclub7722 would you mind sharing how?
I think you need to update the sky mask to get a better result
I bought your preset pack last weekend and I am still awaiting the email with the download link please.
Hi Matthew, thank you! I sent it out straight away, can you please check your spam folder?
@@NeilRedfern Nothing in junk. I have sent a message to you via Instagram. Great videos by the way!!

Is this tool only on Lightroom Classic?
I am not sure I'm afraid, I use it in both Lightroom Classic and Photoshop
Bcz its a beta version, Thats the reason the Generative AI is limited to Numbers? Does Photoshop has limit number on Generate AI?
No, Adobe charge a 'credit' for every use of generative AI in both Photoshop and Lightroom - you can check this on the Adobe website
Honestly photoshop beta was great when it first came out, not it’s ridiculous. It’s like it doesn’t know anything and giving you weird results.and anything that shows more skin it doesn’t generate anything saying you violated their rules
so , they will charge credit very soon, good money jar
Does photoshop allow unlimited generative AI compared to LR?
Unfortunately not, Adobe uses the credit system in both Photoshop and Lightroom
No more photographers!
I like the tech, but its technically pay per use? First monthly subscriptions, then its going to be paying to use every tool....

Remember its only in beta so it will ony get betta 😂😂
Haha, nice!
waste of time
If a photographer is blind, he should put the camera aside and go jogging. delete this video, you are promoting an artificial world.
I'm afraid technology will advance whether you or I want it to or not. All we can do is choose whether we choose to use it or not
