Thank you for this informative video. My FT-1900 has no receive audio...did *all* reset and reprogrammed for local repeaters, still no audio. Got frustrated and went out and purchased a new 2980 that was on clearance from AES before they went out of business. My FT-1500M is dedicated to mobile use because it is so rugged and resists heat from the sun in the summer(I keep it in the shade). I searched the internet looking for help with this no receive audio with no luck...just gets tons of other brands and models but nothing on the 1900...grrr...smh
Greetings, I have the same radio and the only question I have is about the wires X function, it's in my car can I talk through wires ex on his radio or do I need to have a node hooked for it to work? I'm wanting to venture out into other modes and features I haven't played with that feature yet.
I've never used the WIRES function. I hear it's very popular in Japan. I believe you would need their hardware node for it to connect to the internet. Have fun!
what is the internet mode/wireless feature? I can't find complete info on it....does this radio connect to the internet directly? Do i have to have a "base station", etc ? thanks for the re-cap...getting my hands on one soon.
That's Yaesu's proprietary WIRES system . . . sort of like echolink . . very popular in Japan I believe. I've never used it but you can buy a box from Yaesu that'll work with your WIRES equipped rigs and contact other WIRES equipped stations.
Mr Daniel, I watched your video. Thanks a lot for the demos. I have a radio just like this one that was kept in the box since I bought it. About 10 years. Now I decided to install it. It's working. The problem is that he has a configuration that I could not reset. I need to operate at 161070 mghz. This is the channel. At this frequency, when I activate the PTT, the message ERROR appears on the dial. How can I release this channel so that I can communicate normally on the frequency I mentioned?
Hi there. The FT-1900 is made for the amateur radio frequencies only. Although it can receive outside of the ham bands to some degree it's not programmed to transmit outside of its designed application. I hope that helps :)
I have some channels I want to delete but I cannot figure out how to delete the channel, thus it stops all the time on a digital station everytime I scan. It's a FT-1900. Can anyone help?
Thanks for the video!
YW!
this is my first radio station, i just bought it and i started the classes for my licence, thx for the video ^ ^
Have fun!
Thank you for the tutorial!
Will there be any more where this transceiver is concerned please?
Duane, UK
Hi Duane, I have no plans to publish more video on this rig presently. Thanks for the note!

Interesting. . . I'm not sure what would cause that issue. Is there any white noise when the squelch is turned off?
