Well ponchos or not, frisks clothing in this story greatly reminds me of the clothing seen in the Lisa series. I mean look at the connections. Were in a desert, the choice of clothing looks similar, and I also just noticed that the art style look vaguely similar to the character bios artwork you can purchas from the game itself.
