Lived in Grosse Pointe Park from 1975-81 and graduated from GP South High. I've been through this area dozens of times and never realized it was called East English Village. Reminds me of what certain areas of East Detroit used to look like when I was a boy.
Truly my favorite city. I think finally the world sees how amazing it is. So many good things bring publicized. I'm confident many more positive things to come.
Thanks for this. At the beginning, if you'd driven another block on Cadieux, you would have passed the house I grew up in (back in the 50s & 60s). My parents bought it new, after the war. I've been relieved, on those occasions when I've come back to Detroit, and visited the Cadieux Cafe for a beer, at how good the old neighborhood looks. BTW: we never called it "East English Village" when we lived there.
I agree. Nice houses. Well maintained. Very affordable. Nice location. Palmer Woods and Indian Village are two of my favorite Detroit neighborhoods, but for the price, this neighborhood is very nice. 👍🏼
@@TheGreatOutdoors I love this neighborhood. Lived here for 32 years. Would have been nice to take the video on a day when they were not picking up garbage.

My dad's family is from the East side, my mom's from the west side. Alter Rd, Fisher, and Balfour on the East side.
@@TheGreatOutdoors I'm very familiar with those streets. I had friends and classmates who lived those streets between Mack and the river.
Thank you for showing the beautiful parts of Detroit
