This match is superb. Wang Liqin at his prime was simply beautiful to watch, and remain until now one of the very best, perdiod. Also, he seems to be such a nice guy.
YES!!! Wang Liqin... my favorite Chinese player ever. I thought he was getting a little too old to compete, but geez, he's looking good now. Go Liqin!!
I think you're misinterpreting what I said. Liqin's backhand has always been great. He's almost never lost a backhand to backhand rally. Even though he doesn't have a strong attack or flip he's always had a great block and drive. His placement has always been strong on the backhand and it shows that he now knows how to use it against Long. Long's backhand has definitely improved as well, but I would say Liqin has him outclassed in comparison. It's obvious in this game even Long thinks so.
really happy wang liqin won, he has experience but he is growing old, he is 10 years older to ma long, ma long will learn to read games better as he grows....
@takkyuHero it looks like they have the scores backwards for the first game. From 3-4 to 3-5 to 3-6.... all of those points WLQ won, but they showed up on Ma Long's side of the digital scoreboard on the screen. I noticed that too.
Where did you get that from? It got to be natural for Wang to beat Ma when Ma was young. This match was in 2010, Wang already past his prime and he still managed to beat the then #1 player, Ma Long. The danger about Wang is that he can win many points defending. Waldner is the other player that can do this consistently. Hate to play against this type of player.
@@benthekeeshond545 This stat is from Wikipedia. ITTF Head to Head has a narrower count of acceptable encounters and gives the record 7 to 3 in Ma's favor. Starting in 2006 Ma beat Wang 4-1 and ended it by beating him 4-0 in 2012.
@@benthekeeshond54518 years old Ma Long has already defeated Prime Wang Liqin. Statistics just tell how much better Ma Long is compared to Wang. Waldner is not even near these 2 players at their prime. The game has evolved.
@mahmooddr I agree with you ;) Wang Liqin has this special forehand and backhand technique :) This is the main reason why he's my favourite player in the world :)
hell ya! I hope this means that Wang Liqin has returned to form. He does seem to be playing better in the past month or two. He has been getting some really good rallies against Xu Xin, and in the National Team Tourney he beat Zhang Jike, which he doesn't usually do. So hopefully this means he has the drive once again
Wang Liqin is a beast. This match happened in 2010. Was Ma Long the #1 player then? But statistically, Ma Long surpassed every TT players. That includes Wang Liqin.
people have had time to analyse the new tt stars. they now know how to play them. evidence: liu shiwen, was beating everyone when she was on the rise. after people read her game, she was beaten by people (with much more experience than her) like guo yan same here with wlq (more experience) reading ma longs game.
@TheGreve Actually Ma Long has had to do that. Liqin's Backhand has always been great and with his new practice partner (Ma Long) he now has a much better backhand than Ma Long does. Liqin is now familiar with Ma Long's backhand so you can tell Ma wanted to try to get in a forehand rally on the backhand side.
@scylla24 It's the lack of Speed Glue. He doesn't prefer the Tenergy that Ma Long uses or the Sriver that others use on Bryce sponge. He's been training against the younger players more as we've seen some behind the scenes footage of their training sessions, but the problem is that they've all seen his game for a decade. He's hardly ever played against them in comparison to other players like Wang Hao or Ma Lin. He'll get it back soon I'm sure.
Can you explain ehat is Euro here? I think he has nothing of euro style, his stroke are even bigger then regular chinese forhand.. euro style is Timo Boll, short strokes with hand in 60 Degree.. chinese is 90, even straight hand in power shots..
@NightcruiserMA I totally agree Liqin is a top player and I don't think he's out for the count. He's been practicing in Ma Long's Group which I think is what has really upped his game. With the speed glue ban he's had so much trouble adjusting to the new players, but I've seen more videos of him practicing with Ma Long which is sure to help him beat the new top seed. I feel another Liqin reign coming :D
I'm really confused in the beginning. I don't know if you are adding the scores' screen, but it keeps saying the other player is winning the point. At one point Ma Long wins a point and then the score says Liqin won the game. Are your edits perhaps out of order?
It was obvious why Ma Long lost. He didn't play very well for a start, but he kept playing in the diagonals and in the middle all the time! He was lost every time Liquin played a backhand in his forehand, but he kept playing his backhands in Liquin's backhand.
@ 3:06, when they repeat the previous point, its just stupid from the camera man who keeps moving the camera left and right as if he coulndt catch the action with the camera being still!! lol
3:05 this i such a stupid camera view. its not soccer/football where you can follow the ball with the camera where it goes. table tennis is to fast for that. overall it fuckin annoying and makes me dizzy.
Wang's playstyle is so beautiful and entertaining to watch, perfect technique and ball touch.
I miss Wang Liqin. When he was on his prime his Forehand dominated for a decade.
This match is superb.
Wang Liqin at his prime was simply beautiful to watch, and remain until now one of the very best, perdiod.

Most TT players are ??? At least most of them have good sportsmanship.
YES!!! Wang Liqin... my favorite Chinese player ever. I thought he was getting a little too old to compete, but geez, he's looking good now. Go Liqin!!
@Zubeen Bhuiyan DAMN I WAS ABOUT TO SAY THAT!!!
Both are my top favorite players of all time.
Amazing to see one of my favorite older player and my favorite new player 👌
Same here

HOW THE HELL CAN ANYONE DISLIKE THIS !! ARE THEY BLIND !! .. AWESOME MATCH BETWEEN TWO WORLD CHAMPIONS !!
Ma Long isn't a world champion. He's too frail.
Kevin Fang He is Now...
+Kevin Fang Hahahahhahahaha
Jealousy
Two 3 times world champions
Wang Liqin the big boss
Both players are amazing!
really happy wang liqin won, he has experience but he is growing old, he is 10 years older to ma long, ma long will learn to read games better as he grows....
1:52 so cute
Wang Liqin is the king.
WANG LIQIN! :') tears of happiness!

Wang Liqin is my favourite Chinese player of all time. Exceptional technique on both wings. Beautiful to watch

3:06 DUDE!! This slo mo is like a robot would watch table tennis!
2 leyendas mano a mano!!

WLQ is still in great shape!
Ma Long's record against Wang Liqin: 32-12

Whose that dear@@pham1020
world class shot : awkward sound of a few people clapping.
you are the champion!!
Wang Liqin is the best as yet
Super!
Awesome match!
Wang liqin was ma long of 2000-2010 era..
And thank you ttcountenance!!!!

Yes he was the no 1, at his peak. But got outplayed by some experienced players, sometimes.
Ma Long was practically spring loaded back in those days.
Ma long was in the best shape of his career during this period. 2010 2012
people have had time to analyse the new tt stars. they now know how to play them.

That's what TT should be like. Tons of great rallies.

WOW wang liqin
Wang Liqin never takes risk !!

WANG LIQIN IS RETURNING
did you hear ML said "wo tsao" when he missed a loop? "Tsao" is where "cho" is originally from.
Domination by Wang Li Qin at 2nd and 3rd rallies, Ma Long should the rallies keeping short.
He's got the combination of both Chinese and Euro style (really the best of both worlds). Truly one of the best TT players to have ever lived.
Can you explain ehat is Euro here? I think he has nothing of euro style, his stroke are even bigger then regular chinese forhand.. euro style is Timo Boll, short strokes with hand in 60

whoa. never seen this before...
wang ligin still a good player...his swing is getting a little too slow for modern chinese game...but he is still awesome...he is my favorite...
really sick
NICE
王勵勤好棒
the power
great upload. does anyone have the match between ryu seung min and wang hao at qatar?
I'm really confused in the beginning. I don't know if you are adding the scores' screen, but it keeps saying the other player is winning the point. At one point Ma Long wins a point and then the score says Liqin won the game. Are your edits perhaps out of order?

Classical Chinese "handshake" after the game! XD
wang is still the best 5*
WOW
Fortune favours the strong ^^
WTF I wish I had those reflexes
His feet were dead the whole game, his reflexes were slow and he hit a bunch of forehands into the net, that's not like him.
did they mess up the score? wang liqin's score is under ma long's name and ma long's score is under wang liqin's name
Crowd sounds like it’s 2020
nice slaps at 1:11 and 3:58
Stop saying Ma Long wasn't good. Ma Long was on fire too.
they played like training
it was an ittf error :)
王励勤バック半端ない
semi-final
is wanq liqin rich or not ? i was wondering how much you are paid when you're a professional TT player.
wang liqin should be more happy i think. he beat the nomber 1 of the world!
what is the judge wearing under his chin
7:45 亮了
@ 3:06, when they repeat the previous point, its just stupid from the camera man who keeps moving the camera left and right as if he coulndt catch the action with the camera being still!! lol
who won?
100% offense, powaa ;D
Battle of Forehand Gods
🇯🇵🇨🇳
8-5? ma log winner the point
I am a fan of Both players. I hate Ma lin.
Don't like his style lol but he is the type that would make a player look ridiculous
@xBarneyCalhounx lmao
Tough loss
