Thank you, I tried this and it worked after a few attempts - laptop's brain freeze is gone. I initially thought my CPU was fried as it would heat up after turning the device on from external power ( it wouldn't even power on from the battery), I even ordered a used motherboard which I now don't need. Anyway, from my personal experience trying your steps, I must say it didn't work immediately, it took at least 4 tries. I unplugged the battery, unplugged the CMOS battery, tried to turn on the laptop but it wouldn't turn on from battery power so I had to plug in the charger - it would turn on, no fan spin or anything, and nothing on the screen either. So I repeated the entire process again without any changes to the steps - same as before, it would turn on, no fan spin or anything, and nothing on the screen. Then I plugged a different charger in - I noticed I got a slightly different response from the status indicator lights as soon as I plugged in the different charger, I then unplugged the charger, repeated the steps again and plugged the charger in, powered on the device, I got a fan spin :) and a shutdown :( . I thought this is different, maybe it has some life in it. I then powered on the device 2 more times but I just got fan spins and shutdowns on both attempts. I then decided to repeat the process of unplugging the CMOS once more, finally, I got the Dell splash screen after which it said no bootable device - another roadblock, so I went into the BIOS and restored the settings to BIOS defaults and it booted to Windows 10.
DUDE! I work in computer repair - I had already unplugged the CMOS and replugged multiple times, but when I read your comment i was like jeez this guy is describing the exact same symptoms... So I tried multiple different CMOS batteries with the same style of plug, unplugged and replugged probably two dozen times, walked away for 5 minutes and what do ya know! I come back to see the screen is on and the computer is working! I'm so glad I kept at it despite it seeming futile. Absolutely no clue why that worked, but hey, it did. Thank you so much for your detailed comment! Our business can now sell this refurbished laptop for a few hundred bucks. Cheers!
I watched this video with very low expectations... but it works!! It resurrected my company laptop that had stopped working after I replaced the screen. I thought I had botched the replacement, but it works perfectly!! Thank you so much.
Didn't work for me. Everytime I press the power button first light come ( of the theee lights below) middle light dont come. But when the problem initiated at early stage sometine middle light came after pressing the power button along with first light. Whenever middle light also came , the laptop opened. But now middle ligh dont come and laptop dont open. But now after pressing the power buttom, third ligh become orange color towards the end . How can I fix this? Video tutorial didnt work for me. Please help.
Yes I also have same issue. But in mine, only orange power light, no battery light nor middle light. The Laptop, When i turn it on it turns off immediately (within 2 second with sometime capslock blink once, Showing MOTHERBOARD or CPU problem but it is just 2 years old). I tried removing CMOS battery, Battery, Ram and even power cable(which i should not handle) but nothing happened. I think i need to go to original Dell Service Centre because normal technician can tamper my costly laptop parts. If you can help them tell me. I have left it in same condition for about 3 months😶.
Thanks for watching Check Ram, Remove Battery pack and connect DC charger Yes of course, it seems that your laptop has a motherboard issue, it is better to get it checked by a good expert or Dell center

@@khcomputers do you know WHY this works? Does it resets something in the bios?
Yes bro.. you can say it’s a hard reset or bios settings reset
