We are indeed lucky folk. Beautifully said. I love his being... as always. And this blue shirt is so gorgeous!. Plus, his photo should be next to the word "Charisma"
Marc had 'It'...it still translates today...40 or so years later. All you guys who think he was so lame, and you are SO much cooler today can shut it. 'He was great until Slider'? Seriously? That entire album is f*cking brilliant....how many great songs have you all written lately? T-Rex's music drips sexual energy, has a great groove, and probably still turns more women on today than you could if you lived to be 500 years old. Marc was a legend. Jealousy and Haters go hand in hand.
We now live in a time when artists can take 5 years between albums. Marc Bolan released Electric Warrior, The Slider, Tanx and a whole albums worth of original singles and b-sides in the space of 18 months.
The best B-sides ever. Thunderwing/Lady. There Was A Time/Raw Ramp. Cadillac/Baby Strange. Free Angel. Sunken Rags. The bloke was amazing. Love you Marc XX
i have the t shirt sparkling gold miss ya marc you are a cosmic dancer and you sure did bang a gong hope all is well everyone alot of his songs were in billy elliot
I definitely absolutely love this very beautiful talented singer songwriter Marc , he’s definitely a very special person. Especially sent from heaven when he’s was born . 1947/1977. He’s in heaven with my dad John in heaven.& with my husband Ben in heaven.& with my four grandparents in heaven . I’m his fabulous Fan & friend Leanne xxxxxxxxx. ❤❤❤
Pamela Mack The Beatles! Come on Pamela! Marc Bolan wrote all his own stuff and was a true genius but none of all that would have happened had it not been for Elvis! The problem with Elvis his music never progressed like The Beatles music did but yes I concede Elvis is a true great!
I can listen to this all again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again again and again and again and I have
I got to see TRex live in concert in the early 70s. The stage is dark, music starts and a large star shape with light outlining it starts raising up from the stage. Marc Bolin is on the Star. Great stuff. I was a fan from the start of his career and had all his albums. (Some with him on acoustic guitar and a guy on bongos)
Diana Leigh If it wasn’t for Marc a lot of Rock then and now would not exist. As you know Marc was well respected back then by the greats. He was even buried with Jimi Hendrix ring. He was the real musician. If you watch some of these vids a lot happened on that stage from video to video. Marc handled it without shedding a beat. He also played all strings on his records except bass tracks. A real showman. She’d a tear but this is Rock n Roll.
He composed such brilliant music with his head and heart. Played such immortal guitarr riffs with his hands. But in the cold dawn, his soul raced through a tree, straight into eternity. Only a Corkscrew lock of hair on the hard metal sheet, waves to us bye-bye.....
0:04 A very special & beautiful gentleman human being .Absolutely specially born from heaven. .at least he’s in heaven above with my dad John in heaven. & plus with my husband Ben in heaven. & plus with my four grandparents in heaven. From his number special fan Leanne xxxxxxxxx that’s absolutely me of course. He’s a fabulous singer songwriter of all time. From the 60’s & 70’s ..❤❤
I am reading a couple of manuscripts by Paul Du Noyer (journalist) & I can't believe how most pieces I read put him down. If it wasn't for his imagination we wouldn't have had Marc & T Rex. I don't know if it was jealousy that he could do it all or what. I think his US tour caused him to loose alot of his confidence. I am from Canada-I went to see him here in Victoria in 1974 but he was not in a good way so only played 3-4 songs but I still loved his music and do to this day & I'm 61!! I listen to T Rex alot almost daily - I need my fix of their music & his music and personality, not to mention how gorgeous he was & to live in a time where he was in with the music he put out was the best ever.
Bolan must have been churning out quality songs nearly every day, at this point in his career. To put a song as good as Cadillac on a B-side is unbelievable.
Omfg. This is the BEST audio quality. Overall its even better than the '72 Empire Pool totally live rendition. And Marc looks like its all about the music, here. Not overly glammed up, just a top English Band putting the art out there. Mickey Finn - Mr Cool. And the sublime, understated Steve Currie binding it all together on bass, holding the power Just total CLASS
In Canada this song does not appear on The Slider, Tanx or Electric warrior; interesting In North America, Marc's only charting song was Get it On, Bang a Gong, but I agree, The Slider has been my favourite record for nearly fifty years. Wow!
He shines like nobody before and after him ! I really LOVE other singer and lead guitar, but Marc Bolan, always special for me ! And time doesn't change that lol thanx one more time, dear trexmarcbolan, you rock
There has been 'bigger', there has been 'better' but I challenge anyone to name me anyone cooler than Marc Bolan. I bet my neighbours are sick of hearing me knock this one out on my Les Paul. Simple but total Rock n Roll. Miss the guy like ****
Eamonn Reilly Bowie was cool but Bolan looked cooler cos he always had a Les Paul hanging there. rock/pop God holding the best guitar on the planet ever.
Eamonn Reilly Marc opened the door and Bowie stepped through - although there is no real comparison as Bowie's career went on and on and on while Marc's was tragically cut short.
"there's a shadow in my basement, and I'm scared to sleep alone" , the ultimate line in seduction , from a true British great , the late great Marc Bolan !!! KALMIY❤
Oh-Baby! Thank you for all you gave us Marc & T Rex-love you always & so lucky to be able to see you in all your gorgeousnes through these RUclips Video's-thanks trexmarcbolan
hes still my one and only true love always will be such a beautiful little star , happy teen memories . cant believe its been 35 years today since he died god my heart broke that day what a terrible loss for all us marc fans and for music .
Saw this back in 72 when I was a boy. Always loved the way Micky Finn chucked the maracas away at the start. Micky was my hero, he basically did fuck all but he was so cool !. RIP Marc, Micky and Steve. Awesome stuff, thanks for posting this!
Dense Groid...you are sooo right. Fabulous value single releases from T.Rex with this followed by Metal Guru and Children of the Revolution; each with two fantastic songs on the B Side. I can still remember playing the latter for the first time and being wowed by hearing Jitterbug Love.
I thought that I knew T. Rex and glam rock pretty well, but this has escaped me until today. Great song with a great groove that seems different from most of their songs (at least to me).
How could this not have made the cut for The Slider? It's better than almost everything else on The Slider. (and I say that as a long-time fan of The Slider)
L o v e it! Oh my god this is T. Rex at its best. But where to begin, where to end. Before I die I will travel to London to the shrine, and I will nail my Electric Warrior album from 1971 at that fateful tree. Yes.
Unicorn, A Beard of Stars, T.Rex, Electric Warrior, The Slider, Tanx. Who did six that brilliant albums like him? And the rest, the best of the rest is outstanding too. So for Mr. Bolan, hat’s off gentlemen.
Cadillac was one of two songs on the B-Side of Telegram Sam when it was released as a single in January 1972. The other song on the B-Side was Baby Strange which later featured on The Slider album. Marc Bolan included the song for the first time on an album on "Great Hits" released in October 1973. You can find Cadillac on the special edition releases of The Slider and it's available to buy on iTunes. Hope this helps.
As fresh today as it was when released, Marc was a special kind of genius.
Gone but not forgotten 2023.
We were allowed to borrow this handsome and talented man for a while.......and boy it was worth it!!!! We miss you Electric Warrior
We are indeed lucky folk. Beautifully said. I love his being... as always. And this blue shirt is so gorgeous!. Plus, his photo should be next to the word "Charisma"
😢...warum musste Er nur soo früh von uns gehen...Er hat außergewöhnlich gute Musik geschaffen

Totally Agree. Named my Tesla Model 3 after the album.
Oh yes both albums r killers
The Slider is much more significant
i have the t shirt sparkling gold miss ya marc you are a cosmic dancer and you sure did bang a gong hope all is well everyone alot of his songs were in billy elliot
I've been a fan since 1969.. never ever get bored with the sound .... brilliant
T.Rex did the best B-Sides ever. No contest.
Agreed
What a brilliant song. One of the many B-sides, released by T.Rex, that were incredible.
Marc Bolan, just a phenomenally talented, charismatic, witty, brilliant rocker, awesome ♥️✌️🎸
50 years on and people are still listening to Marc Bolan.
Marc was on top of the world at this point
thanks for stopping by
When someone of genius becomes part of your life . . . 'till the end.
taken a bloody long time but eventually inducted into rock n roll hall of fame.

Wow! Marc had to have had one of the most underrated voices in rock history. Soulful, classic, and contagious...timeless!
Dylan, Donovan, Hendrix, Cochran,Elvis all in one :) just greatness
John Eccles ....Elvis was one in a million... I love Marc... But noone beats Elvis.

Words cannot describe perfection.
One of Marc Bolan's fantastic B-sides. it was on the flip side of the single Telegram Sam from 1972.
For some reason it was spelt 'CADILAC'
Not on my copy it wasn't. And it shared the flip with 'Baby Strange'
Still second to none XXX
so incredible.
The word among the most well known guitarists from this era was that Marc could play with any of them.
You made that up. Or they were referring to playing Scrabble. That may be the daftest comment I've ever seen on RUclips.
43 years without the great Marc Bolan!!
two words to describe bolan...COOL & TOTALLY GLAM!!
people hate me but the talent is undeniable😏
Damn - never saw this one before - WooOOoo!! Aw Marc, so very awesome, rock on.
How could this not have made the cut for The Slider? It's better than almost everything else on The Slider. (and I say that as a long-time fan of The Slider)

no words can say how great marc bolan was ,
My lord my grandson loves the bass rhythms yaa baby go baby go go go go t rex
They may be dinosaurs, but theyre the biggest, baddest, coolest one of all.
..Truly an electric WARRIOR
one of Marcs best! thankyou!
Unicorn, A Beard of Stars, T.Rex, Electric Warrior, The Slider, Tanx. Who did six that brilliant albums like him? And the rest, the best of the rest is outstanding too. So for Mr. Bolan, hat’s off gentlemen.
