Okay I don't know if the guitar strap falling over during 'Gravity' was intentional, but if it was, that was just GENIUS. Also this is officially my favourite video on your channel and you HAVE to make a part 2 asap!
John is especially gifted at creating interesting circular rhythms, they usually feel like they could go on forever. Stop This Train is an excellent example, as the intro part really does give a trance like feel.
I can see you are a Mayer and Hendrix fan. Great Video. I notice you never mention Prince as a guitar player, songwriter, Virtuoso soloist, or innovative force in popular music. I would suggest the song "The question of you, Crazy you, So blue, Strollin, Why you wanna treat me so bad, and Bambi" just name a few. I love your videos. They are very humorous indeed. I look forward to your next release.
I would love to hear you talk about the rest if this album, you should definitely make a series where you just talk about albums you're passionate about man
Mike, I've seen plenty of your short videos but this is by far my favorite piece of content that you have produced. I'm hoping this does well for you and that maybe someday you'd consider doing a similar thing with other Mayer albums in the future.
Absolutely brilliant! Thanks for breaking down these songs. Songs that once were so mythical in their songbuilding structure have become so valuable to see their architecture in practice. Thanks, Mike. P.S. I love the way you talk and display chord relationships with Roman numerals. Just a note, as a reader, I would connect to the chords even more so if you used lower case for minor chords. And ° for diminished, if you ever come across diminished chords as you break them down. I appreciate your insights so much! Keep rocking. God bless
Mike my respect for you📈📈📈. You're not only a funny meme guy, but this video is so interesting. I really love video's about music theory and deep diving into my favourite music. Your style is different from others and very entertaining. Keep it going man!
Mike i really enjoy your introspection on guitar i am much older and with age comes a form of jaded out look . I think we tend to forget the things that make guitar playing exciting and a bright young guy like you remind me of how much fun we can have exploring the construction of some of the great song writiers. it gives me so much joy to see the next wave of guitarest and other musicians. i believe that over the next ten or fifteen years we might see a expulsion of great music from people like you..Keep up the hard work keep pushing forward i see a great future for you.
Do one for Sob Rock as well! The whole album is mellow, but there's a real anger underneath some of those songs -- All I Want to Be with You's outro is one example. :)
I’ve been watching through your videos since RUclips recommended you a couple days ago and I LOVE your stuff! This kicks ass, you’re great at sharing guitar content! New loyal viewer ✌️😌🎸
Love this series of content man. Keep up the good work. Would love a part 2 of this review. Additionally, would love for you to cover some other Mayer albums and of course albums by different artists so that we can gain more perspective.
Jeez, this was brilliant. I'm not even into Mayer much at all and now I want to learn the ins and outs of Gravity. Definitely do more of this type of stuff.
it's funny I used to despise John Mayer, being a metal guitarist stuck in his metal ways, I used to say he's just like all these wanna be pop artists, but I get it now lol. Now all I usually listen too is blues and John Mayer is one of my top 3 favourite artist, and learning most of his song improved my playing a ridiculous amount. funny how things change isn't it lol. Johns playing is f*cking amazing!!!! Don't wanna brag either buuuuuut I was in the top 0.05% of listeners of John Mayer on spotify last year👀big fan now😂
Mike this is awesome!! I knew you were a big Mayer fan from your content but hearing you break down the songs was great:) would you consider doing the same for frusciante or maybe Gary Clark Jr?
DUDE. I have wanted content like this for a long time and have never found it on RUclips. Please make a part 2 and 3 since you only did four songs here and I figure since there’s 12 songs that… you get it. Anyway, this was really next level so continue to make more. An album I recommend breaking down is Led Zeppelin’s Houses of the Holy, such classic songs and interesting progressions on it.
Hey really informative! I'd be down to see more of this sort of content. But I still dig your funny stuff too. It's different than most of the guitar stuff I see on RUclips
I recently went through johns entire catalog recently. Continuum ranked 2nd only being beat out by sob rock. Many may disagree but sob rock was my introduction to Mayer and I love every song on there. Great video!
I enjoyed Mike tries to be serious for more than 30 seconds, could be a solid series here. If you do continue with it I think a great album to break down would be the queen is dead, in honour of our dearly departed lizzie and Johnny Marr who is an absolute legend
This is awesome! Thank you! Looking forward to part two of this video, specially for Vultures and Stop This Train. It would be very interesting to see you analyze the album The Ides of March by Myles Kennedy in the future. 😃
John Mayer title = Instaclick
John mayer in the title
Me too 😅
Unfortunately that’s true for a lot of viewers. . .
Okay I don't know if the guitar strap falling over during 'Gravity' was intentional, but if it was, that was just GENIUS.

I'm the 69th like
IKR HAHAH
This is great. Defo need pt 2. Breakdown of the Born and Raised album would be sick.
From one diehard JM fan to another, this was awesome
Definitely would love a breakdown of the Room for Squares album
I Learned ALL of John Mayer's Room For Squares | Here's Why You Should Too

Fuck, ten whole minutes of mike. My day is lovely now
John is especially gifted at creating interesting circular rhythms, they usually feel like they could go on forever.
Stop This Train is an excellent example, as the intro part really does give a trance like feel.
I never got too deep into John Mayer's music, but PLEASE do more album breakdowns like this! Great format 👌🏻
Mike, I just want to say that your passion for guitar and for making these videos awesome and entertaining is unmatched! Keep going!

Hearing that solo just fired up 13 year old me.

Besides beign a nice memer, you're also a very good musician and reviewer. Love your content, Mike!
I would love to hear you talk about the rest if this album, you should definitely make a series where you just talk about albums you're passionate about man
Where The Light is….one of my FAVE CDs of ALL time! Out of my mind is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!! WISH we could get more blues like that from Mayer.
Yes yes! Part 2. Your energy is so great
Love the longer videos, would love a part two and more Mayer album break downs!
This video was amazing really informational PLEASE make more of these types of videos
I was so pleasantly shocked at how good this was as I was randomly courting around RUclips. Bravo, Mike. Excellent video.

Love this type of content! I hope you'll continue to explore the album
"Gravity is working against Mike's guitar strap..."
This is fantastic, concise content. Please oh please do a part two
As someone learning Continuum, I really enjoyed this video. Good work, Mike! Give us a part 2!
I’ve been watching through your videos since RUclips recommended you a couple days ago and I LOVE your stuff! This kicks ass, you’re great at sharing guitar content! New loyal viewer ✌️😌🎸

This was awesome. Opened my eyes a bit with playing/writing/understanding these style songs.
Love this series of content man. Keep up the good work. Would love a part 2 of this review. Additionally, would love for you to cover some other Mayer albums and of course albums by different artists so that we can gain more perspective.

You have a Great Presence and Ability My Brother , Keep Going !💪🏾
pls do a part two! i fkn love this album and it’s the reason i started playing electric guitar. didn’t know it did the same for so many other ppl lol
it's funny I used to despise John Mayer, being a metal guitarist stuck in his metal ways, I used to say he's just like all these wanna be pop artists, but I get it now lol. Woo! I Like your informative videos! It didn’t feel too serious, still pretty fun and great ideas. Thanks. I feel like a better guitarist already.
Please give us Part 2! And maybe analyze a SRV Album later on.
Hey really informative! I'd be down to see more of this sort of content. But I still dig your funny stuff too. It's different than most of the guitar stuff I see on RUclips
We want more of this !
I recently went through johns entire catalog recently. Continuum ranked 2nd only being beat out by sob rock. Many may disagree but sob rock was my introduction to Mayer and I love every song on there. Great video!
If RFS isn’t top 2, something’s wrong.
I enjoyed Mike tries to be serious for more than 30 seconds, could be a solid series here. If you do continue with it I think a great album to break down would be the queen is dead, in honour of our dearly departed lizzie and Johnny Marr who is an absolute legend
