“I loved collaborating with Sabato. I am forever grateful to him for introducing me to Mina's "Ancora"-one of the most gorgeous songs I'd never heard before. I had such a moving time remixing this incredible vocal. And I found Sabato's vision for the rest of the music inspiring at every turn, reworking Romy's "Loveher" and me & Lykke's song "Late Night Feelings.”

@@omaewamoushindeiru6581 Gucci has been open for 100+ years originally established in leather & equestrian goods. It was probably one of the leaders of minimalist chic before Alessandro Michele’s recent 7 year director stint.
There’s not much to say that chic isn’t for Gucci, more like chic just wasn’t for Alessandro.
This collection shows the return to the true essence of Gucci. Elegant and sober designs

No coming back to Tom Ford era. It is one of those unique moments in fashion when stars align and a miracle is created. Not even Tom Ford himself can do it again. He tried and failed. Compare this to Tom Ford era Gucci is like comparing cast plaster Davids sold on Florence streets with the Michelangelo original.

@ST-gl9qr Fashion is not as superficial as people think. Actually it's often a signal that a new era is coming or that an old era is ending. And when Tom Ford left Gucci, 2006 if I remember correctly, soon after 2008 crash came and all the opulence from period before was switched for something else. When Tom Ford came to Gucci his first collections from 1996 signaled the start of a more sexy approach to life that culminated around 2001, the pinnacle of Y2K fun and hedonism. After 9/11 things began cooling down and after 2008 optimism was dead. So Tom Ford era in Gucci is also an era in our civilization history. That what distances good fashion from bad fashion. Good fashion is always in sync with vibes of the era. Bad fashion is a copy that lacks this deeper sensibility of the times we live in. People don't understand how important the clothes really is for our civilization in general and for us as human beings. We don't respect clothes enough. But maybe we soon will.
There were other designers of course creating in the same period but Tom Ford achieved most iconic results. Like Cubism had many artists but Picasso is the one who was most iconic, that resonated the most with the masses. That's why we always come back to Tom Ford. There were also McQueen, Galliano and few others but Tom nailed it good enough to be art and commercial enough to be accepted as everyday clothes copied for the masses. I still get the chills every time I see SS96 or FW9697 Gucci ad. It was perfection at it's finest. Visual sign that something new is coming and it came. Sorry if I wrote a novel but he deserves it 😅

love this new version of gucci. the energy is young, carefree and irreverent. i've watched this show way more times than any old gucci show. i prefer it like this.

REFRESHING and LOVE THE SIMPLE STAGING!! You can actually see the clothes. More fashion shows should do this. You don't need a crazy set that just distracts.

You can wear every piece. I am sure you can find exact one in your local Uniqlo but you will have to emboss Gucci writing by yourself 😂. It will be easy, rest is the same.

Not an easy task or shoes to fill... had formula moments of Frida fighting the Tom urge... but here its trying to respect Alessandro's legacy and legitimise Sabato's new vision... looks very promising! 10 points on shoes, bags, jewellery and accessories (which is what sells) and 7 points on fashion which looked more like a cruise but safe...

Alessandro made Gucci tacky. His designs were hideous and quirky for quirkiness sake. He made it only about himself, "nerdiness" and not about Gucci. Sabato de Sarno will restore Gucci to greatness with elegance and style.

@@ohslytherin94 Michele's tenure made Gucci profits for about 5 years because he was silly and camp, but he significantly harmed the brand's reputation and lowered it's prestige. Gucci became a joke because of him. For goodness sake, Michele was pulling design inspiration from clowncore at the end. Clowncore! He hid his lack of range behind maximalist fetishism and superficial virtue signaling. It's time to return to skill and innovation. Sabato could be as iconic as Tom Ford was for Gucci. And WOMEN will love de Sarno's designs. Michele was incapable of dressing a woman's body so he avoided trying to do it all together and screamed "gender fluidity" or made them look dowdy to cover up for his lack of design skill. This revamp is overdue for Gucci! Smartest business move they've made in years.

They have their own era and totally I support them because it's better to make your own styles than continuing other people's legacy that could be a big failure like Virginie Viard. Even if Sabato can bring successful but many people know that his styles are inspired by Tom Ford and Tom is the one people remember. Unless, Sabato can make his own trend that I wish in the future, so people don't make mistake designs from Gucci and Tom Ford.

This wasn't a great collection but rather a good collection to cleanse the palate. It s refreshing to see again normal clothes that were elevated and styled simply, minimal, classy and just beautiful. This collection was heavily edited, and you can give Sabato a good applause for doing so. I believe to have this kind of restraint in designing clothes is a pure talent in itself especially the fact that he came from Valentino, which is a house known for its embellishments. A very good restart for Gucci and I can't wait what he'll do next. Surely a designer to be followed.

I love this new style! It's super chic, simple but not too simple and stylish. I loved the dark red skirts and the color in general. I was afraid when I heard that Alessandro was gone, but I must tell you I was shocked by this collection. The simplicity and elegance at the same time got me so excited! My favorite was the grey skirt with the dark red skirt and heels. INCREDIBLE! ❤ GOOD JOB!
I love the quiet but luxurious confidence type of feeling this collection gives off. It's so calming to look at. My favourite is the piece at 6:32. So laid back.

It’s clear they’re going to have to rip out all their boutique interiors and start again. The world Alessandro created was so singular in vision, I’m sure he’s quietly laughing at the thought of how much they’re going to have to spend to redo everything. No matter, just double the price on all the product and pass it on to the customer.

I definitely love his collection in this new direction. Much more wearable, and yet not loudly speak that "Gucci brand logo". And yet, it is a self-satisfaction, you can buy as great as Gucci, while you don't want ppl to know and see that it is a great brand stamp on your clothes..

I like the new direction, the clothes are easy, direct and youthful. Before it was too boho hip for me.
Kind of like Gap and Uniqlo but with Gucci writing and monogram added so average Joe can see from war away that even if it is boring, at least it is very expensive 😂😂😂

It's a throwback to the old style.
This style is not close to me, but generally done well.
I hope that in time I will be able to understand more of the "new old" style and Sabato will show more. Alessandro's first collection, as far as I remember, was not immediately accepted by the public.

Chi non apprezza questo fashion show, non è consapevole del lento coinvolgimento verso questa cifra stilistica. Resta la fluidità ma si spoglia dell'onirico, iniziando a sognare con i piedi a terra, Sabato ha saputo mantenere intatto lo spirito lasciato in eredità da Michele.

It's completely boring. It pretty much looks like everything else on the market. There's no fantasy here....unlike what AM put forth on the runway every season. None of this looks like fashion...it all just looks like...typical clothes. It's pedestrian...nothing even memorable from this show. Embellished tank tops....slouchy jeans...oversize jackets...zip up hoodies?? Meh...I can purchase pieces that are similar to this collection from Zara at a much more reasonable price. The entire reason why I love AM right from the start...was because ..although it looked retro...it didn't look like everything else out there. Am's collections had a point of view...and they tapped into the current mood of these times. This current collection doesn't have much to say....aside from the fact that it's classic and well tailored. Big deal. Pffft.
It will most likely sell very well...mostly because the majority of the population has pedestrian style. Pedestrian is a polite word for... boring.
