    Saul's work was just the most beautiful use of colour and abstraction found in everyday scenes.

    Playing this on mute alongside 'Ladyfingers - Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass' on my Sunday Study morning. Thank you for this:)

    I find it quite fascinating that half of the photographs are in black and white. Known for his colour work, I wasn’t expecting that from Saul.
    Also the mix of colour and b&w photographs in the same book is not so common, somehow it works!
    Beautiful work ✨

    I've been searching for my copy for the last two hours and decided to watch this video to remember how it looked in detail. Still haven't found it, though. It's my favorite photo book that I own and I'm really saddened right now!

    Hi Robin. Purchasing the Unseen Leiter recently prompted me to look at some videos of his earlier work. I see you have reviewed All about Saul Leiter. Between these 2 books which would you recommend content and paper quality wise ? Thank you. Great review videos.

      Good question, let me grab them both later today and have a think! :)

      Hi! well, the quality of the books is basically identical. Same size, format, publisher, and paper as far as i can tell. All About Saul has perhaps slightly more paintings and nudes. There's really not much in it other than that :) Enjoy!

    Hi Robin, what's the difference between this book and "All About Saul Leiter"?

    • @RobinsBookClub
      @RobinsBookClub  2 года назад +1

      Different photos, different essays, different emphasis. I'm doing the latest one this weekend, and possibly compare all three.

    Between this book and "All About Saul Leiter", If you could only buy one, which would you choose?

      I'm going to do a video about all of the options, honestly between the two you mention they are both great :)

    I think Leiter's strongest works are the color ones. Each time I looked at his photos, feels like I'm seeing a painting, not a photograph.

      I agree! Something very special about them :)

      I agree but some of his B&W work is no less painterly. Look at the images at 5:50, for example.
