Interesting that there’s overwhelming support for Strickland, but when Bergoglio did the same thing to Father Altman, many turned against Father Altman. Personally, Father Altman in his capacity is more likely to reach more people with the faith than Strickland is. We should NOT be forgetting about any of these guys. Keep them in your prayers.
Anthony, my understanding is that Bishop Strickland has said he would not comply of his own accord (as in resign), but I’m not sure if he will resist an official removal. I do hope his entire diocese will boldly resist on his behalf. He needs a good Canon lawyer. If we do not resist this, Francis will continue to pick off our good bishops and priests one by one. An official removal would ordinarily require a whole, LONG, drawn-out Canonical Process, including appeals. Lots of back and forth between Canon lawyers. I hope that happens, because Bergoglio has ZERO Canonical grounds upon which to order this replacement.
I hope he does pursue the canonical process. If the good bishop is successful, he will thwart the pope’s bullying. If he isn’t successful despite proof of his innocence, the credibility of the current Curia will be severely affected.

That the FSSP was promised, but never given, a bishop proves that Archbishop Lefebvre was right to defy Pope John Paul II. He was promised another bishop for the SSPX, but feared the Vatican was waiting for his death. So he consecrated his own bishops. Perhaps the reason the pope was so angry is because he never intended to give them another bishop.
