    Verjuarmu were a great band. They actually sing in Savo-dialect. Check songs from the first album Muanpiällinen helevetti (hell on earth). Maybe Kurjuuvvem valssi

    Now we´re talking! My mother tongue, dialect.. sad about the end tho. The name in finnish is Verinaarmu, Blood cut or something like that

    Try Laalavat Jouset by them!
    The screams / growls near the end remind me of something from Turmion Kätilöt.
    For old bands, try Burn Your Ship from Arion and Twilight Horizon from Twilight Force (I'd especially recommend trying something new from Twilight Force, as the song you tried was not even close to their best IMO. Were one to ask me, I'd say that none of the songs on the new album are even close to their best. The first album is my all time favorite power metal album. The second album I've listened through maybe twice. It just doesn't compare).
    For new bands try Until Fear is Gone by Eagleheart (They're trying to get 50 000 views for the music video before new year, but they're still 800 views short, I'm sure they'd appreciate it). They're power metal, but a fairly original style of it IMO. Don't know any similar bands and can't really describe it either. Some keyboards, plenty of different styles of vocals, pretty heavy, kinda progressive-ish riffs perhaps?

    They sing in Savo dialect, those people tend to put J's in weird places. Many people living in Lapland put letter H in every place, no matter if it fits or not.

      Verjnuarmu in "written" Finnish would be verinaarmu.

      More interesting thing is that it is a funny dialect. You can think how indian people speak english so it has same feeling.
      But also savo dialect is from Eastern Finland ex. Marco Hietala is living capital city of savon dialect: Kuopio.
      But typical for savo dialect is that you say something but it can mean anything.
      "Suattaapi olla tai Suattaapi olla olemattanii". "Maybe it is, or maybe it is not".

      More known savo dialect song is "Ievan Polkka". Korpiklaani has made also own version. It is real "porn song" but many times just children singing this song becose they not understand lyrics and it sounds nice.

    This is a very strong dialect of Finnish, from the region of Savo. The people in Savo are known for two things: staying isolated from the rest of Finns and a total incapacity to form a single understandable sentence.

      What part of this dialect you can't understand? It's closer to Finnish than your stadin slangi. Wtf is "stördaava bösa", "stengaava dösä" or "snägärin stöndis kledjut"?

    The lyrics are both beautiful and hilarious at the same time. I'm afraid the depth of the language used goes unappreciated for foreigners.

  • @Morhgoz
    @Morhgoz 4 года назад +2

    Actually this band doesn't sing in Finnish, it sings in one of it Eastern dialects. One that is damn hard to get right in "normal" Finnish... If you are foreigner or non Eastern, you probably don't understand shit in this dialect. Btw, this is also natural dialect of bands like Turmion Kätilöt and also Nightwish's Marko Hietala. But those are big city folks from this area, so we can't trust they know proper Savonian anymore...
