Dancing at Kaaawa Loa (Kualoa Ranch) and then at Kahana Bay which was our ohana's property from 850 years ago.Frank Kawaikapuokalani Hewett, also known as Lehua, is a Hawaiian hula dancer, teacher, and composer who has dedicated his life to sharing Hawaiian culture: So u'i is his presence.
The song talks bout the pain of losing a loved one. Although It hurts that they are away, would you rather erase the memories of your deceased love to take the pain away or cherish the memories with the pain. "Na ka hāliʻaliʻa e hoʻopumehana i ka pō mehameha ipoʻole" = The loving memories bring me warmth on lonely nights without you😪
Always thankful that he taught us to dance to his beautiful mele during EWE O KA HULA Europe 2014 in Budapest! Love this music, the talkstories, the movements of the body, mind and spirit.
