    What are your thoughts on this Special Edition Panigale? Do you think the $47,000 price tag is justified? Should trade in my 1299 S for this Beast? Leave a comment below! 😎

      If you have the money and it makes the nether regions tingle, go for it.
      My only caveat for such special bikes is that you should ride them like you stole them and not save it for some 'collectible' nonsense. It's a special bike that's been developed to provide a special experience.

      Very true! Thanks for the perspective Swampster. Unfortunately I've come to find out all 500 bikes are already pre-ordered and reserved. I just want the exhaust to be honest, lol!

    I would really appreciate your efforts if u made video about the 2020 R1M, i am absolutely in love with it, the carbon fiber, the sharper new look and refinement make the new R1 worth looking at, never loved the previous model but this one with those little upgrades make the bike looks really fresh and unlike anything else.

      I actually haven't looked much into the 2020 R1M, but now I am very interested. I'll plan on making a "first thoughts" video on the new R1M in the near future. Thanks for the idea!

    Love the vlog. I’m right there with you on no winglets and underbelly exhaust. It’s an expensive bike but a collector’s item. It’s special....ok I just talked myself into it.

      LOL! I might have talked myself into it also! I at least want to know how much the underbelly exhaust is going to be. I might buy a V4S and install that new underbelly exhaust! Cheers!

    That bike looks absolutely gorgeous and will definitely be a future classic 👌🇮🇹 it’s easy for me to say go for it but a lot of times when people buy these extremely low production bikes they never ride them for fear of loosing value. Thanks for another great video review

    • @TheDucatiPilot

      I agree the bike is gorgeous, however I don't think I can justify spend $47k on a motorcycle. The Speciale is $39k, but seems like a better deal overall. I have a tough choice to make! lol

    I disagree totally with you about the winglet and i disagree with you about the exhaust. I own a V4 panigale Speciale and yet the exhaust sound + saving weight + the Racy sound are heaven!
    To understand that, you need to own a V4 R or a Speciale...
    All the best to you from a French Ducatista

    • @TheDucatiPilot
      @TheDucatiPilot  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks for your comment Nick! I appreciate hearing from fellow Ducatista. I respect your opinion, but my buddy owns a V4S with the Akra and I can't get over how it sticks out compared to my 1299 Akra exhaust. Yes, it does sound amazing, but I really dig the "clean" underbelly look. No matter how hard I try, I just can't get over those winglets (AKA. drink holders), lol. Ride safe my Friend!

  • @jimlee6817
    @jimlee6817 4 года назад

    I 100% agree with you on the clean under-belly exhaust and getting rid of those hideous winglets! I keep saying it, and I'll say it again...Get yourself a V4 Speciale!! You know it's everything you want in a Ducati!! Cheers!

      The V4 Speciale is actually one of my dream bikes! The Akra exhaust on the V4 has grown on me in the last few months. We'll see what happens!

    Thoughts: I'd buy one of these because I love Foggy and I grew up less that 20 miles away from him and now live just a couple of hours drive from where this bike was first shown. It follows on from the 916 - it is sex on wheels. Whether or not you can feel comfortable on this bike on the road for more than 10 minutes is immaterial, if you ride it 'full spuds' the average guy is gonna be spent at that point. Back in the day I had much fun on a 888 SP2 with a bunch of Corsa bits that were rumoured to have come from Foggy's extra bits of Ducati parts.
    Winglets: I come from a car racing background and fully endorse aerodynamic aids. Anything that makes the bike more stable and better in the corners is worth its weight in carbon. If you're more about the looks then go buy a Britney Spears blow up doll and ride that. All I care about is how the bike feels and how the ride looks when I'm sat on the bike - not how the bike looks whilst I'm walking towards it when it is on the side stand. If someone took my bike and planted a turd with two wheels on it and the promise that I could ride 200mph laps around Laguna Seca, I'd ride the two wheeled poop. Do you want the ride or do you want the looks? The choice of poison is yours.

    • @TheDucatiPilot
      @TheDucatiPilot  5 лет назад +1

      First, Thanks for the detailed comment! It's awesome that you grew you near Foggy. Also your 888 SP2 sounds like it was a gem!
      I still can't get over the V4R's winglets. To each his own, but that's why I compromised and bought a 1299 Panigale S. All the power I need plus the beauty. Cheers!

      @@TheDucatiPilot Always riding and having fun - and trying to keep the rubber on the road! On the days I ride the bike to work I feel thankful that the ride across town to the freeway is just the right length to get the bike up to temp so I can nail the freeway entrance in 1st gear and get up to "cruising speed" before hitting 2nd. Sure, it's tempting fate, losing your license in 1st gear on the freeway but after that who needs an over priced cup of coffee to provide the jolt that makes you feel alive in the morning?
      Have fun and stay safe.

      Great point Keith! It would be tough to find matching parts in a few years for this bike. It's basically a fine museum piece that belongs behind glass. Can't really ride it, lol ;)

    Dude you have to keep that 1299 as in a few years the world 🌎 of 🦆will 👀back with Awe on your lovely beast I would keep it for sure . The 25th 916 is an awesome machine with tons of nostalgia but your 1299 is like no other
    On top that 47k for a 916 is way too much to pay 💰 If you really can’t live
    without it & have to have one ☝️ give it some time after it’s released I bet you some owners will put up their‘s for sale ( one reason or another ) this always occurs
    For an example the 2020 S1000RR M just got released & it’s such a hot desired bike you got to wait a few month to get your hands on one .
    I know of two owners ( Ca & FL ) already that have decided to sell their bikes & that’s just an example of how new toys 🧸 can go on sale just as fast as they were bought

    • @TheDucatiPilot
      @TheDucatiPilot  5 лет назад +2

      Thanks for the detailed and insightful comment Mo Soliman! The more and more I think about my 1299, I just can't picture getting rid of it. I actually chose to buy a 2017 1299 S over the 2018 V4S. The V4S was having a lot of issues and recalls at the time, so I went with the proven bike of the 2. Plus I do personally think the 1299 looks better than the V4. Also my bike is the final year of the L-twin engine.
      I agree that $47k is way too steep of a price to pay for a motorcycle. The V4R is only $40k and actually has more special features than the 25th 916.
      I was actually considering purchasing the new 2020 S1000RR M and selling the 1299. I must admit I got caught up in the hype surrounding this bike (especially when it first came out last month) and I was bedazzled. Now it seems like the reviewers are not too happy with the 2020 S1K's performance. It has a huge dip in the power curve until you hit 9k RPMs. I actually watched both videos of the guys selling their's (Ca & Fl). I actually watch the FL youtuber (The Speed Bug) all the time and talk with him occasionally. He's a pretty cool dude that doesn't bull-crap people about his bike reviews. Honest and true!
      Once again, thanks for commenting and ride safe!
