This was exactly what I was looking for! I visited Philly once and I miss it. I hope to live there one day. That’s such a long distance too. Thanks so much for doing this!
Wonderful. My wife lives on Naudain, between Front and Second. This makes me miss her even more, while I'm in the UK waiting on Residency. So many shops and businesses that aren't there now. We were possibly even walking on South Street when you were filming, as it was a birthday visit for me.
I'm from Delaware but live abroad and haven't been home in years. South Street is such a special place for me even though I have been only a handful of times or so. Thank you for bringing me a peace of home!
A few years back the Blacks started hanging out and ultimately took over the south Street area. At one time it was a nice area to visit on a nice Saturday day. Now I wouldn't go there if you paid me.
@@gutturaldarkness another thing that I love about Philly is that racists hate it! Let's not act like "crime ridden" isn't a dog whistle for "black ridden".

Hey AK, good to see you in Philly. I only thought you did NY videos. You should do vids of the University City into Penn's campus, the U of P Health System district, to Drexel U campus into downtown. Also, the Fairmount district, over to the East River Drive near the Art Museum region down to City Hall. Main Street in Manyunk. Frankford Avenue near the El (similar to your Bensonhurst video) into the Northeast Philly. hiking trails in the park. This is a lovely city.
I miss Philly. It’s a great city and completely underrated. What time did you do this walk? It looks much quieter than I remembered it being. Thanks for posting!
I think in our day cities are only able to preserve their charm by being underrated. Once the wealthy move in and price the artists, academics and other misfits out, everything turns bland and boring.
@@Leg0456 I was born in Morningside Heigjts, NYC. Lived here my entire life except for college. Because of my work I travel to Philly 4 times a year. Did it for years and in 2017 was asked if I would transfer to start a center there. Jumped on it and lived there 2 1/2 years until the pandemic when I moved back to NYC. Still go to Philly very often. Actually going there in 3 days. Apart from NYC, Philly is the only city in the US I like spending a lot of time in.
As a native from Philly I disagree lol I love NY it just stinks that’s all and is dirtier but the Architecture there is like ours but times 100 they have way more. If you want less crowded area I guess Philly wins that lol
I'm from Cincinnati, and every time I visit Philadelphia, I feel like I'm at home. I keep saying that the next time that I go back, I'm going back as a resident. Not as a visitor.

I was in this city twice and I loved it, the last time was by myself.

I lived at 15th and Pine at the beginning of the center city renaissance. Loved it!

You should!
You passed by my old apartment on 2110 South Street. Interesting walk through my old neighborhood. Things have changed quite a bit!
It's an expensive neighborhood now
I used to pay $400 a month for a first floor studio apartment there. Amazing!
It's more like 4 or 5 time's that now
Nice video, thank you for this walking tour!
Awesome work. Was like I was back there after 20 years. Much appreciated!

Wow what a complete difference between these streets scenes of Philly and the Kensington area scenes.
Exactly. Most of Philadelphia is NOT like the mess in Kensington.
