I remember being 14 running amuk with my homeboys Prince and Chappelle and they exposed me to this song. Fast forward 15 years and this is what keeps my feet on the ground. they opened my mind and for that I say GRACIAS
As a 15 year old punk kid I was on a quick path to nowhere fast. Ended up stealing this CD and "when life gives you lemons" CD from a store being stupid and just stealing to steal. I didn't even know who atmosphere were or what the music was. When I got home I put these albums in and my entire life changed. Finally I had someone talking to me in a language I understood that wasn't saying to go get a gun or go sell drugs. Even tho I obtained those albums by being a shit person, i look back at that moment as one I would never take back. Those two albums have been there for me when I needed them most and I have a hard time thinking where I would be mentally without them.
They're pretty well known in the Underground scene but yeah not many "hip-hop heads" that say they love Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, 2pac never once heard of Atmosphere or Brother Ali.
I think you'd be surprised. I thought the same thing about Arizona but I saw Slug/Rebelution this year at Luckyman's St Patty's day festival and the turn out and fan base was HUGE for slug.
Well, where I live I almost don't see anyone who's an atmosphere fan. But that might change this school year. I'm about to enter highschool. Hopefully, they'll be more variation in types of rap. All I hear is drake, ASAP Rocky, and Kendrick Lamar. Ive been to more of their shows than I can count and each and every time has been an outer body emotional life changing awe inspiring experience no matter what songs are played. Ive seen a great deal of artists live both mainstream as well as underground. However, not a single one has left me in the indescribable state of bliss, void of all the cynicism I too often carry along with me day to day in the same way atmosphere does. Between the brief talks i managed to somehow have with slug one on one to the nights spent entirely backstage getting to know him amd ant in a genuine fashion to the incomprehensible amount of dedicated fans of such diversity in every sex, age, race, creed, sexuality, nationality, social class, and yet even with such a diverse group of people there has never been a time nor place where it truely felt as though none of those differences mattered for if you're a true fan and follower of their music you know that none of those differences mean anything. What matters is that even in a sold out venue packed with strangers, once Atmosphere begins to unravel their soul into their music, the entire crowd somehow become just as close as if we were a family. Ive never met someone I couldnt connect with on a deep intimate level at one of their shows. And I truely believe that if you actually listen and follow Atmosphere the way most true fans do, then you will be able to understand and relate to my never ending lecture about just how powerful and moving these 2 men have been for countless of people who often times could not find any true connection to anyone or anything until they miraculously were able to discover Atmosphere. ....disclaimer: all dislikes and or negative or derogatory comments left in regards to my lengthy statement will only leave ypurself open for brutal and whitty retorts the likes of which slug himself may even deem as burn worthy. So please go listen closely and take the time to understand and feel every song. Your life will never be the same.

As a 15 year old punk kid I was on a quick path to nowhere fast. Ended up stealing this CD and "when life gives you lemons" CD from a store being stupid and just stealing to steal. I didn't even know who atmosphere were or what the music was. When I got home I put these albums in and my entire life changed. Finally I had someone talking to me in a language I understood that wasn't saying to go get a gun or go sell drugs. Even tho I obtained those albums by being a shit person, i look back at that moment as one I would never take back. Those two albums have been there for me when I needed them most and I have a hard time thinking where I would be mentally without them.

They're pretty well known in the Underground scene but yeah not many "hip-hop heads" that say they love Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, 2pac never once heard of Atmosphere or Brother Ali.
I think you'd be surprised. I thought the same thing about Arizona but I saw Slug/Rebelution this year at Luckyman's St Patty's day festival and the turn out and fan base was HUGE for slug.
Well, where I live I almost don't see anyone who's an atmosphere fan. But that might change this school year. I'm about to enter highschool. Hopefully, they'll be more variation in types of rap. All I hear is drake, ASAP Rocky, and Kendrick Lamar. Don't get me wrong, Kendrick is without a doubt the best in the rap game right now but what I would like I to see is someone who likes my type of rap which is like atmosphere type of thing.

Ive been to more of their shows than I can count and each and every time has been an outer body emotional life changing awe inspiring experience no matter what songs are played. Ive seen a great deal of artists live both mainstream as well as underground. However, not a single one has left me in the indescribable state of bliss, void of all the cynicism I too often carry along with me day to day in the same way atmosphere does. Between the brief talks i managed to somehow have with slug one on one to the nights spent entirely backstage getting to know him amd ant in a genuine fashion to the incomprehensible amount of dedicated fans of such diversity in every sex, age, race, creed, sexuality, nationality, social class, and yet even with such a diverse group of people there has never been a time nor place where it truely felt as though none of those differences mattered for if you're a true fan and follower of their music you know that none of those differences mean anything. What matters is that even in a sold out venue packed with strangers, once Atmosphere begins to unravel their soul into their music, the entire crowd somehow become just as close as if we were a family. Ive never met someone I couldnt connect with on a deep intimate level at one of their shows. And I truely believe that if you actually listen and follow Atmosphere the way most true fans do, then you will be able to understand and relate to my never ending lecture about just how powerful and moving these 2 men have been for countless of people who often times could not find any true connection to anyone or anything until they miraculously were able to discover Atmosphere.
