That's mad that is Frank, because i have been using that rig for about 12 years now or more, i actually thought that was something i had invented lol, small world or what.. a few people i shown it to actually laughed at it, untill i started to catch more fish on the chod with a sock, and then those laughs became smirks! It's a very affective rig!! 👌🏻
Works well with solid bags. Normal chod set up, small solid bag on lead, chod rig running up leadcore. I don't connect to bag. I've had the chod filament actually snap on the cast. I've found wafter or bottom bait more effective as well.
Brilliant Frank. I have been doing similar and you are right having bait under your chod can be devastating. Helicopter rigs also don’t work with a standard PVA bag BUT if you attach an in line lead on the end with a keyhole shaped swivel on the end of that, you can hang a PVA bag in that which flies out in a neat line in front of the lead. On a short helicopter you also end up with a little pile of bait close to the hook. Because not many do these things they just work!!

I thought the idea of the chod was that it moves up the line in the cast hits the bead then sinks slower than the lead to sit on top of the weed not be fixed to a bag ?
Such a clever man will be trying that thanks frank
He doesn't know you can buy little metal clips to use pva with heli

@Steve won't let me post link mate tried 3 times now they are in a key hole shape and split like a key ring to get on your heli swivels
I think Avid make them but I think they’re designed for lead clips?

How is this supposed to work,? The chod section won't layover the top of any weeds if it's sunk to the bottom with pva??

I just take my lead off thread my solid bag up my lead core and put my lead back on just same but don't put my hook in bag happy day's and put a nugget on hook💥👊
Or you can put you're lead in a solid PVA bag and just put a nugget on the chod hook job done happy day's tight lines carpaholics
