Hi, back in 2010 I purchased some BTC from a friend. I encrypted the wallet and put the passcode on my phone. Well almost 10 years later I found the wallet on my desktop but cannot remember the passphrase. I was able to get the wallet loaded into Core but in order for me to send out I need the passphrase. Can we extract the passphrase from the .dat file in order recover the coins?

I am so glad you made this video. I am having some trouble with the tokens though. Specifically, I can't use words that contain a - at the end nor numbers standalone. Any ideas for a possible workaround?

Thank you! The reasons why your wallet is not synchronizing with the network could be:
Not enought nodes (synchronized core wallets) online.
Outdated walllet - Download the latest wallet from github
(There was a miners security update in the difficulty calculation - from block 55555)

This worked for me! Took me pretty much a whole day, but it worked! So grateful for your help. You are awesome SIR! I had some btc locked up in an encrypted paper wallet that I was starting to write off as lost. Thanks for going through each needed step. Asking the software what to try was a little complicated at first, but in the end I had a typo in a number of my password that I would have never been able to guess! Don't see a btc address for you, but would like to send you some btc appreciation!!!! Thanks again.
