JollyGul.com presents Pir Hasan Kabiruddin's "Jogi So Jo Jugaa Jug Jogi" wonderfully recited by Taufiq Karmali and Laila Kabani.
Pir Hasan Kabiruddin was a person of immense simplicity and is known to have used a modest coconut husk from which he ate and drank frugally. He was contemplative, deeply spiritual and preferred spending long stretches of time in solitude.
In "Jogi So Jo Jugaa Jug Jogi", Pir Hasan Kabiruddin reminds us that faith has to emanate from deep within us and making an external display of it, like merely wearing an earring (a symbol of a devotee), does not automatically make one a yogi (ascetic). He tells us to wear the "earrings" in our hearts from where they can not be removed and make no noise, unlike an external dangling earring.
