Came across this channel today and wow this is all ive ever wanted to learn. THANK YOUUU I finally feel inspired to get out of bed everyday and practice new things again
I may be wrong but I think lick 2 tab isn't correct: I'm hearing a 5-4-0 pull off on the D string so it would be (G) 5-4-0 (D) 7-0 and (D) 5-4-0 (G) 7-0
I don't understand the time signature in lick 7: in the notation it appears that all the notes take equal times (except G), but in the demonstration the last 4 seem slower?
So if you can write riffs that sound the same as riffs in different tunings, what are the main benefits of alternate tunings? I understand an open tuning leaves a baseline of whatever chord you tune for, and it can "challenge you to play different", but it just seems more hassle to me. I got to relearn what scale shapes, chord shapes, etc I can use, but I can still write twinkly riffs in standard. I know sometimes a riff can be 'easier to play' in particular tunings, but still - someone break this down in laymans terms.
Awesome! More Midwest emo standard tuning videos please!!
This is an awesome practice tool for learning the style a bit more. Exactly what I've been looking for.

I’ve rediscovered standard tuning this year after a couple decades of playing open tunings. What’s old is new I guess.
Signal chain please!
I signed up to patreon to get the TAB for this but I can't find it on there.
thanks for the support! link is usually in the description of these vids. let me know if this doesn't work. www.patreon.com/posts/59611550

I like open tunings because you can play like shit and it still sounds good 👍 DAEAC#E for life 💪
One of the main benefit of alternate tunings is string ringing out. basically open notes while playing makes it more grand ya know
Emo is heresy -20,000 social credits
We're coming for you Mr Wong
Nice...but where is the flannel???
the transcription of lick 2 is wrong i think. it's missing a pull of note from 4 to 0 in the 3th cord
so is lick 7 which should be 8th notes over beats 3-4
The nokias ringtone is midwest emo
This sounds more like math rock
Such beautiful sounds. I'm so sick of hearing metal in the local music scene.
You have great videos, but they are way too short to warrant having such a long outro.
Stealing all of these. Thanks :)
