Jan 9 2021 I’ve watched all your videos on this boat . Reason being I’m was purchasing one .... not now . Your the man killer boat not putting it down but I’ll keep what I got . Keep up the great reviews. Peace and love from Canada cheers
I completely get your perception. I really do but I’m a technician in the automotive field and the situation is very similar. When a manufacturer lists 1 year warranty, it’s not 1 year and 1 mo. We shouldn’t expect the manufacture to honor that. We’re consumers and when we purchase things brand new we’re not worried about the warranty then but as soon as it runs out we now have a problem. I will agree that the work is shotty and when I work on someone’s car I work on it with caring hands.
The minute they said out of warranty do not have dealership do simple fixes! Ten minute weld job would have fixed the part and if you own a boat it is a good idea to know how to fix bearings. They really are simple to work on. Do not overpack the grease or it will pop the cap and leak out. You wouldn't have to wait for the work to be done and save a ton of money by doing it yourself
Great advice. I do know how to do the bearings and work on the things that needed to be fixed. But I already had it there and wasn’t aware how much it was going to cost until it was done. Think that’s why I was so mad about the cost cause I know what it took to fix.
I've had the same issue, we had to rebuild the whole winch mount because it just kept breaking. The metal is absolutely garbage. FYI the winch will break off the top of the post too
I have only had it happen once so far but I have also been way more careful about just driving up onto the trailer as far as I can. Not really relying on the winch. Thanks for the info though. I am afraid that I will have to have my buddy weld one together that will actually do the job one day.
I know that the trailers they build for tracker boats is also lower on quality but these things you are sharing seem like it is a bit of a lemon. I enjoy watching your videos, very personable and detailed. Days I think I have known you for some time😁 As far as Bass Pro so far my experience their customer service truly sucks. I have a Ranger we just bought and sloppy, boat is great but will not purchase another boat from bass pro or cabelas. They got their money and boom all done with me. Thanks for sharing👍
HELL NO. My Grizzly trailer was throwing grease, ride home from the BPS, Gainesville to St. Augustine! They wanted me to drive it back on a bad bearing and lose the boat for an unknown amount of time! I'll replace it myself. Tracker Boats has NO WARRANTY. ..oh yeah, brand new boat... discovered wet foam front and back.
I know exactly what you're talking about. Tracker boat trailer axle went out about 14 months after buying the boat. It had a problem the day I bought it, the wheel on one side had a wobble. Went back in to the service area and told the service manager. He came out with a breaker bar and tightened the rim, which I know was wrong, anyway left with my new boat. Probably 1500 miles or 14 months later pulling out of the ramp I noticed grease on the rim checked the bearing and it was gone. I tried to put a new bearing on but the spindle was gone. Had to call a rollback to get the boat home, luckily it wasn't but 25 miles away and only cost about 125.00. Called bass tracker and was told that it was not under warranty 2 months out. This is only one of 8 real problems I've had, never again bass tracker. And by the way payed and replaced the axle out of my own pocket.
Yea it sucks big time. It worries me cause if time permits I take a trip to AR ( 18 hr round trip) and MN ( 24 hr round trip) every year and taking the boat with me. I’m constantly checking wheels tires and bearings on every stop. Hopefully dew diligence on keeping an eye on things will keep me safe but I know one day I’m gonna miss out on several days of fishing waiting to get it fixed and lots of money.
On your bearing buddy style axles there are no real seals. The rubber cover over the zerk is the seal. Occasionally you will get water in there and the heat from driving will cause it to boil off, expand, and pop a little from that front cover. I advise only using a marine grade grease. Give it a free spin and see how it sounds. If it sounds sandy it's time for new bearings. Also. You can get those caps by the bag on Amazon for just a few bucks. As for the winch. Try to avoid having to slide the boat up the bunks more than just a few inches. Sometimes at a steep ramp it's better to walk it in by hand or even pull up to flat ground. If that post isn't 1/4 inch HSS I would consider getting one made that is thicker material.
Thanks for the details. I now try to pull boat as far on the trailer to minimize the use of the winch. The info on the bearing water makes perfect sense in what I was seeing. I do only use marine grease so should be ok there.
Ok I just finished watching. This ticks me off also. Im in the same position. Although I haven't taken it in to them yet. Fortunately my brothers a welder. Hey you saved me time and money by posting this. I really appreciate the info. I really do.
Let me start by saying you had used the wrong hook on the boat. The first hook is the safety hook not the winch hook! But the weld should not have failed if they would have designed it correctly. Do yourself a favor and add a chanel brace one inch under the winch mount down to the tongue using a plate similar to what they used to mount the assembly to the trailer. This will stiffen the assembly and transfer the stresses evenly and not just too the main up right. As for the labor, they have to pay their mechanics and pay for the overhead of the shop. You should have told them not to do any repairs that are not covered under warranty before contacting you first. Live and learn. I can tell you that I will be fabbing up a stiffer brace after I pick up my Traga from Bass Pro.
Thanks for the info. I know which hook goes where but at that point it was rendered useless so we just lapped it on to keep it from dangling. Otherwise it’s used correctly. I’m hoping it was just a flaw in that on tower and the new one won’t have any issues but I do again I will for sure be bracing it.
In regard to the broken weld , Im a retired welder, still work on stuff for people for beer..., the Boating industry is in great need of qualified welders. Also many welds are made by robots. Also with "DIVERSITY LAWS" the robot operator named Shenana Boquickiee.....she aint breaking her nails of that.

Hate to say it now, but after they said it wasn’t covered under warranty you should have drove away, unbolted it, took it to a buddies welder, and it would have cost you a case of beer. I would demand the old one back also.
I know. They didn’t officially tell me it wasn’t under warranty until a week after I dropped it off. I then asked where the part and my straps were. Was told in the boat. Until I got home and no part. Not happy.

But same damn thing happened. I've been so busy I haven't taken it back to bass pro yet. Please let me know what they say and if they fix it, I sure would appreciate it. Man what a pain.

I just bought the 2021 version. The boat cover that you have. Do you keep the cover on while you are pulling the boat? Some say it will tear. If so what about the trolling blade, what do you do with that?
It does not handle well while it is traveling but it will hold up for a while.I have laid a towel over the blades and also left them bare. There is no issue there. It’s the straps going to the trailer

That piece should never break like that from normal winching. The reason it cracked right there is from vibration which means the tube needs to be thicker to account for the added stress. That would make me nervous about the rest of the trailer. That is a piece of the trailer that should never break because it literally holds the entire boat from moving up and down on the trailer. I understand things can happen but that is something that cant because its a huge safety issue. As far as dealerships go I absolutely will never do any work through a dealer unless its absolutely needed. They literally rob you because once your in the door they know they can charge anything for labor and you have to pay it. There is a reason they call them stealerships. Hopefully the boat is working good for you.
Josh Garner 100% agree. It also worries me a lil more that I have heard of 3 other cases now of the same thing from different owners. Sounds like could be a manufacture problem.
@@8michael7 I'm a mechanical engineer that works in manufacturing so I have seen my fair share problem. IMO tracker/Bass Pro should have covered this being that it was a major safety issue.
It could most certainly happen from user error...pull in too hot a couple times??...winch it up hard??..hitting the brakes hard in the tow vehicle??..not saying he did any of this because I'm sure there are cases of just a 'bad' weld...unfortunately you have cases of failure in pretty much everything...
They would have come up with my old winch or knocked off some price. And not to bust your balls but never let someone do work without you knowing the cost up front. The price to change your winch mount out was absolutely fucking ridiculous.
i think they stick it to you. GOOD thing is you have a u tube channel.so people know they know how they stuck it to you. LOOKS like they lost some they will miss your money for now on
All that money saved by going with a WRM Jonny Morris special. You can’t put a price on the time YOU lost not fishing. We get blinded by the bottom line and overlook service, warranty and fit & finish. My advice is to do your research before buying a boat. That extra money saved on the front end isn’t worth time lost, frustration and buyers remorse. Life lessons suck sometimes.
We now live in a day and age where nobody gives a rats ass about doing a quality job. People are more concerned about if little Johnny wants to start wearing a dress.
That is plain robbery! They installed stuff that you did not need (dust caps for the four wheels (you maybe needed 2 at the most, but I doubt it), new winch & strap etc.... you only needed a new stand. If they decided to keep your old stand setup, then they need to buy it from you. They're only authorized to keep the old parts when they are covered by warranty. Otherwise, they need to find your old parts or buy them at the price you are willing to let them go for. No way in heck I want anything to do with a company like that. I was in the process of buying a Tracker... ehhhhh no! After seeing how they robbed you, that deals is off. I hope you don't have too many issues with either the boat or trailer cause they will clean you out. Who gave them a licence to steal?? Wishing you nothing but the best of luck!
I have a 2021 Tracker VeeGuide 16 ft with the 50 mercury, which is made in CHINA ! I would never have purchased it If I had known that, I had a weird noise coming from my lower unit, well 6 months into it , The lower unit failed. My Boat insurance company handled the costs. I put an American made remanufactured lower unit on it and now Its great. Now the trailer ,The wooden runners and side bunkers have rotted ! I keep my boat in a shed ! Sorry ASS MARKENTING , Choosing the cheapest wood they could find ! If you own a tracker boat , when the boats off the trailer , CHECK YOUR RUNNERS! Mercury engines 2 to 30 hp are made by Tohasu , The 40,50, 60 is made in China, the 75,90,115, made in Mexico......150 hp up made in America.
Thanks for the info but I found out the hard way and the bunk rotted and fell off on a trip so had to baby home to replace all of them. It’s piss poor quality on the trailers.
BPS does that so you won't come back to them for service and bother them so that they can work on other customers boat problems that are under warranty and they can save money by hiring fewer technicians and save money as well as rig boats for new sales like add graphs trolling motors and other accessories that way they are not having to answer the phone and try to give some B's excuse of why your boat is not ready to be picked up once they sell you a boat they are really done with you get your money and we don't want to ever see you again
It's called micro managing but what Johnny Morris doesn't realize is customer service goes to hell he has ruined the boat industry look at triton and ranger no where the quality or craftsmanship as they were when Earl bentz or Forrest wood owned them he's just trying to corner the market he also is a major stockholder in mercury marine that's why tracker and nitro only carry mercury outboards
My v20 targa I bought in June is a piece of garbage. I hate tracker and bass pro. Fuck them both. I want my money back the boat has been in shop all summer and hasn’t been fixed and burning my warranty up and freeze will be here in two weeks and won’t even know if it’s fixed till next May. Worst money I’ve ever spent and biggest regret of my life. Never buy a mass produced boat from a box store. Tracker is cheap garbage with fancy paint to look nicer than it is.
matanuska high sorry to hear that. I know it’s frustrating dealing with the bass pro repair shop. I have not had that bad of an experience but just curious what has happened to the boat that needs repair?
Thrashing Outdoors they say the computer. Even have me a loaner computer for the motor while we waited for the new one from the factory and the loaner cut out on me and motor died at the mouth of the kenai river. I was floating into Cook Inlet with no power to motor except the trim. Luckily my minnkota was able to fight an outgoing tide and river current and get me back to the boat launch. Something is frying the computer and they think putting a new one in will fix it. But I know it won’t. They should replace the motor and send it to mercury and let them figure it out. Other problems are the floor is weak and will cave in eventually from the flex it has. The vinyl is already sun damaged from sitting outside in Alaska in their lot for two years before I bought it and they said it would clean up but when I went to pick boat up after buying it they didn’t do anything to it and didn’t offer compensation. One of the salesman said it was covered under warranty but it isn’t. Other minor issues like windshield alignment. Hell the damn glovebox isn’t waterproof like wth. That’s where I’m supposed to keep my paperwork? 🤷♂️😂. There’s a lot of things about this boat that shows where they cut corners for sure.
Way to rig it to get back home. Something you never expect. Buddy bearings spew grease when they are packed good. 🤙🏼

I guess a guy should gusset it as soon as he gets the trailer to prevent that from happening.
i think they stick it to you.
Those trailers suck; my trailer kept my boat down more than anything. Finally bought a new trailer.
They sold your old wench on Ebay. $100 a hour labor cost made me a boat mechanic.
@@Leatherneck-jk9ew I was literally just thinking the other day of how much it would be to just build a nice new trailer for it
That is plain robbery!
KewlTracks thank you. Yea it sucks. Not going back to bass pro for trailer work.
Man, I tried watching this vid. You gotta get better at editing and speed up the windy story. Hope this helps. Appreciate the type of content tho.
Do you power load?
Gravity Air yes usually within 6 inch of the rollers.
@@8michael7 I never power load. But what I can't understand is why this point is weaker than the ubolts. I would think they would be the week point.
Gravity Air that’s what I thought too. But I have heard of a couple more people that have had the same issue now.
I have a tracker also and I’ll never buy one ever again. Worst craftsmanship ever. How do they even pass QC
Please give me a shout.. I just had the same exact thing happen to my trailer..
Buy the part for 120$ and replace yourself. Easy 4 bolts.
I can agree with that for sure!!
That was a easy Diy
