In both the Google I/O presentation this morning, as well as the Nvidia presentation earlier this year, there was a mention of "Privacy". That when a user communicates with a hyper-scale AI platform, their query and answer WOULD NOT be used to train the system. But reading through the updated privacy policies, term & conditions, it seems this is not true. Which begs the question, why would anyone want to use these platforms if their "patterns" are being captured, and used to manipulate the user?

I'm curious about two things. Aren't these projects for startups, not Google? We expect Google to build AI, and startups to focus on case studies, not the other way around. Also, hasn't Google lost its purpose? They were a search company, but as search declines, they seem lost, building AI apps to stay relevant. Companies like OpenAI (Which is not Open anymore) have a clear mission "better AI" like Google's original "better search." It's sad to see Google, a favorite company of mine take this path. What do u think? I am happy to be wrong.

I think these companies are trying to become "platforms" who can do everything! I agree with you. I am more interested in their developer keynote (ruclips.net/video/ddcZnW1HKUY/видео.html) watching now and have a bit more hope there :)

@@engineerprompt I totally agree. Both Google and Microsoft aim to become platforms but take different approaches. Microsoft invests in AI startups, which is more startup-friendly. Google tries to build everything itself, like their unified Vertex AI model. This reminds me of Microsoft's earlier .NET platform approach. Now, Microsoft buys companies with their own methods, like OpenAI. Both want to be platforms, but they have different strategies.
