The US president is just an employee of the people. But the idiotic people of the US puts them on a pedestal. Just like they do with morally corrupt Holywood "celebrities". Obama, actually his wife, was the person who made it her job to fuel race hatred.

Brilliantly written and filmed. Rich is a great man.
It was interesting about his comments on Jimmy Carter, probably realising that he could do more good outside the Whitehouse than in it. Most of the other ex-presidents in my life have either gone on to feather their own nests or more or less disappeared. Carter is the only one I know of who went on to do more good.

The same industry that financed Korea and Nam etc You pay to get a government elected and they go to war and you sell them the weapons. You know, I thought Richard Hall was an idiot who tried to sell us books with the word SnigLIT in the title on an unfunny show called Not Nesesarily The News. Or he was a somewhat poor impersonator on SNL'S mostly empty 10th season. But the cat takes off to the UK for a couple decades and boom, he comes back as an insightful, astute master of Hal-E-Arius commentary on rather weighty subjects. WTF? Does GB give out second acts when they stamp ur passport? I can't wait for this guy to do another BBC DOC. I've binged all of them in 1 sitting. Thank-you Mr Hall. You have redeemed yourself.

It works both ways. John Oliver found a home in the US, first doing feature spots on The Daily Show and now hosting Last Week Tonight.

This show is excellent! It's funny and also very complete. I give it A+ and an apple to it!
A curiosity: the "numbers war" was invented in the UK (post war - can't remember who was the guy). Numbers war is when candidates start to say "but promissed to creat 1 million jobs but ended up creating 50% less" and reply "yes, but I want to guarantee welfare and healthcare for 2 million families while you want to block 3 million families from accessing those programs". (the examples I created are for the American audiences - if I recall correctly, in the UK it was about jobs and housing at the time)

The one who came up with the idea of seperating the state's powers into the legislative, executive and judiciary branches, was a Frenchman called Montesquieu.
The founding fathers put it into practice, but it wasn't their idea.

36:43 I have to disagree with this statement. Jefferson had no input into the formulation of the Constitution because he was in Paris serving as Ambassador to France. I do agree that he and Adams squared off and each were instrumental in forming the Democratic-Republican and Federalist parties respectively. In addition, Sally Hemmings, Jefferson's mistriss, was his wife's half-sister. Jefferson ran against John Adams, not John Quincy Adams, his son. JQA ran against Andrew Jackson (see corrupt bargain).

Jefferson's contribution to the US Constitution is established in his correspondence from France where he was in contact with the authors of the French Constitution and he took his perspective into the Oval Office as the institutional mechanisms were put in place. Disagreeing is denying his biography.
