It advises the referee to have a look at the incident from different angles and speed were the ref might not have been in a good position to judge in real time. I've seen players get sent off for similar situations in the past. I'm still confused though, at when is an overhead kick goal a wonderful piece of skill, and when is it a high boot, dangerous play sending off offence? Many high kick goals I have seen have gone unpunished even though a defender has pulled out of heading the ball away to avoid getting his head kicked off. The penalty award for handball was absolutely shocking! If that was a handball, then the rules must change! You can't jump and land without outstretching your arms for balance. The ball hit his arm as he landed and he knew nothing about the situation. If it was a deliberate handball attempt to clear the ball, why did he deflect it away from an area with Celtic players and straight to an opposition player. Ridiculous decison. Common sense has to prevail when judging these handball situations. An arm that is away from the body in a deliberate attempt to make your body bigger and block a shot at goal is completely different from a neutral ball coming vertically down from the air in a non-dangerous position. His arm is away from his body because he is trying to avoid an awkward landing and potential injury after jumping into the air for a header and colliding with other players mid-air in the process.

As a football fan and certainly not a Celtic fan, the Celtic pen was never a pen (Rodgers seemed to forget about that), the red was never a red, the Hearts disallowed goal for offside was ridiculous and the Hearts pen was never a pen. VAR has ruined the game but proper football fans have been saying that since it was introduced.

Does Brenda realise that VAR doesn't make a decision. It advises the referee to have a look at the incident from different angles and speed were the ref might not have been in a good position to judge in real time. It is not the first time a ref has disagreed with var, and stood by his original decision.

Celtic would have won the game if they had scored from their penalty and taken a 1-0 lead. Missed penalties have cost Celtic dearly this season! Don't put all the blame on the referees. The penalty effort by one of your players Brendan was very poor.
I can just about accept the sending off. He must have been able to see the Hearts player coming in for the header and should've kept his foot down. Another bad decision by one of your own players. I've seen players get sent off for similar situations in the past. I'm still confused though, at when is an overhead kick goal a wonderful piece of skill, and when is it a high boot, dangerous play sending off offence? Many high kick goals I have seen have gone unpunished even though a defender has pulled out of heading the ball away to avoid getting his head kicked off.
The penalty award for handball was absolutely shocking! If that was a handball, then the rules must change!
You can't jump and land without outstretching your arms for balance. The ball hit his arm as he landed and he knew nothing about the situation. If it was a deliberate handball attempt to clear the ball, why did he deflect it away from an area with Celtic players and straight to an opposition player. Ridiculous decison.
Common sense has to prevail when judging these handball situations. An arm that is away from the body in a deliberate attempt to make your body bigger and block a shot at goal is completely different from a neutral ball coming vertically down from the air in a non-dangerous position. His arm is away from his body because he is trying to avoid an awkward landing and potential injury after jumping into the air for a header and colliding with other players mid-air in the process.

You are correct we do not deserve to win this league. So many underwhelming performances and dropping points to teams like St Johnstone, Aberdeen, Hibs, Motherwell, Hearts, Kilmarnock all garbage teams really. Even if we do somehow turn this around I wouldn't feel great about this season. No doubt we will thrash Livingston next week and many fans will have us as world beaters again for another week.

I think Celtic fans can take this on the chin - everything went wrong today and Hearts could only get 2 goals against a ten-man Celtic with no CalMac to marshal the players so it's just on to the next game. Kyogo played well so hopefully he's getting back on track.

As a football fan and certainly not a Celtic fan, the Celtic pen was never a pen (Rodgers seemed to forget about that), the red was never a red, the Hearts disallowed goal for offside was ridiculous and the Hearts pen was never a pen. VAR has ruined the game but proper football fans have been saying that since it was introduced.

I think you could possibly blame beaton if the ref never went over to the screen but he did and then it became his decision and not beatons.
