These Olympic Games are an absolute disaster. It is disgraceful for a host country to treat these athletes worse than animals at a shelter. There is no air conditioning, the food is uncooked, there are not enough bathrooms or toilets available, and the beds are slabs of cardboard. My biggest concern is for the athletes who not only can afford to spend an x amount of additional funds on food but also the negative impact it will have on their sleep, mental health, physical health, and lastly their performance. If they underperform as a result of this mess, the Olympic committee won’t give any one of them another try, possibly leaving the athlete sponsorless, a finished career, etc. Huge repercussions.

For other kind of meats, I have no answer. - Concerning AC : it's quite rare to have AC in France, except for shops and offices. I don't have any friends or family who have AC at home, it's just a cultural difference, we do without it. I understand it can be unpleasant, but to me, it would have been quite strange to add AC to thousands of apartments since it's expensive, the games will only last for a few days, the buildings will be used as normal dwellings after the games (and as I said, culturally, we rarely use AC in France at home), and it's not ecological. - Concerning cardboard beds : maybe you know the brand "Stooly" ? They make nice cardboard furniture. The committee decided to use this because: it's more environmental-friendly, it will be replaced after the games, when these buildings will be bought or rented by other people, it's very solid (go check Stooly), easy to install and uninstall, it's cheaper.

I am Italian and I doubt that in France the quality of the food is poor or that they are going to savings, I know that the management of the Olympic canteen was given to one of their best chefs 3 star Michelin, that all the supplies are organic, local and fresh, the intention of the French was to provide the best of the best. maybe (but it is only my conjecture) the mistake is of the chef who did not consider that athletes do not eat like ordinary people, these need a lot of quantity and usually little processed, the exact opposite of what happens in a luxury restaurant.

My biggest concern is for the athletes who not only can afford to spend an x amount of additional funds on food but also the negative impact it will have on their sleep, mental health, physical health, and lastly their performance. If they underperform as a result of this mess, the Olympic committee won’t give any one of them another try, possibly leaving the athlete sponsorless, a finished career, etc. Huge repercussions.

I'm French, so maybe I can give my view on this...
- It depends on what kind of raw meat we're talking about. For example, we eat raw beef (the dish is called "tartare de boeuf"), or rare beef, it's normal for us since meat safety standards are quite high in France, especially for beef, pork and poultry. For other kind of meats, I have no answer.
- Concerning AC : it's quite rare to have AC in France, except for shops and offices. I don't have any friends or family who have AC at home, it's just a cultural difference, we do without it. I understand it can be unpleasant, but to me, it would have been quite strange to add AC to thousands of apartments since it's expensive, the games will only last for a few days, the buildings will be used as normal dwellings after the games (and as I said, culturally, we rarely use AC in France at home), and it's not ecological.
- Concerning cardboard beds : maybe you know the brand "Stooly" ? They make nice cardboard furniture. The committee decided to use this because: it's more environmental-friendly, it will be replaced after the games, when these buildings will be bought or rented by other people, it's very solid (go check Stooly), easy to install and uninstall, it's cheaper.

Raw meat is actually edible, if the meat provenance is of safe origin and free of harmful bacteria. Could be steak cooked rare or a tartare. It’s eaten this way all over the world and it’s mighty good!

I am Italian and I doubt that in France the quality of the food is poor or that they are going to savings, I know that the management of the Olympic canteen was given to one of their best chefs 3 star Michelin, that all the supplies are organic, local and fresh, the intention of the French was to provide the best of the best. maybe (but it is only my conjecture) the mistake is of the chef who did not consider that athletes do not eat like ordinary people, these need a lot of quantity and usually little processed, the exact opposite of what happens in a luxury restaurant.
If chefs don't consider that, they're not good.

I am also sure the athletes have plenty of various dishes to choose from. They are not « served » something they do not like and must eat.

Maybe this is a subtle way for France to win in their home floor - by intentionally providing inadequate nutrition to other competition, shuttling the athletes in not well-ventilated buses, and providing ill-equipped quarters for rest and recuperation.
I mean given the hospitality. The French are not really well-known for that, so it's not a surprise that they go down this route. This is what France want to show to the whole world on how they treat their guests.
