I'm so glad I went with the silver sky off road model for my 17' tacoma trdsb, bought it used with only 13,000 miles few years ago and the only owner before me bought all the tow, premium radio tech packages, hard tri fold oem tonneau cover upgrades, and added, steel steps, led light bar, and raptor lights, and pro style grill, I'm currently 45,000 miles now all I've done to it so far was replace the tires with 265/75/16 falken wild peaks, added hi rise camper shell, K&N filter, kd maxx pro tune, custom built a bigger cubby for arb single on board comp., sold the steps, just order some cali raised 25° angle rock sliders, and cali raised premium 360° roof rack can't wait to install it as well as in large the other small cubby, and replace that low power 400W inverter with more powerful one. So my 4600 shocks seems to be holding up just fine but will be replacing them later with some 5100's and maybe do 2 1/2" suspension lift and go with some 33" tires. Thanks for the video, but most of your complaints really are pretty much some simple fix to resolve with little more money to fork out gl with your builds happy trails be safe

Thank you Sir. yours is pretty awesome as well.
Nice thing once I add all this extra weight later the man that did my tune told me he will retune free of charge to the upgraded updated one. I went with the one step just below the most aggressive setting and I still use my ect off and on when I want that extra and quick low end torque response you know, definitely one of the best mods to do on these tacomas regardless whether manual or auto trans. You know try not to prolong it any longer if and when you have the funds put it towards that mod for sure.

Totally agree with #3. I’ve also driven manual my whole life and this truck has a mind of its own, super smooth or super sluggish. I live in northern Canada and in cold weather it’s even worse. When you take your foot off the clutch it comes out so slow

I have a 21 TRD Sport 4x4. Bought it because 99.9% of my driving is in suburbia despite having a heart that’s off the road somewhere. It gets babies and spends its nights, sometimes days on end if I, working remotely in the garage. I wanted a manual trans but at the time I bought mine, the dealership still had a small inventory of Tacomas on the lot. They found me an SR5 double cab in the pipeline, but price-wise, I got a better deal on the Sport they had on the lot - hard to believe that once you could get a few incentives and discounts.

I have white since it doesn’t show as much when you get some backwoods pinstripes. Also in CO I would like a headed windshield on the bottom for the wipers. I tapered in a 19 frontier pro 4x for a 21 TRD off-road both were white the Nissan paint was better as far as rock chips but not much. The engine and trans were old school but way better. The 4.0 and 5 speed auto avg 1 to 2 miles less but a,ot more low torque and no hunting in the trans. Towed better as well. Only reason I traded was because the Nissan had less lift options and most were a lot. I wish I could just get the trans fixed better and then afford a supercharger. I did get it new so for now it’s on a TRD lift with the pro grill they sell I got on a steal for $1k with my discount and a set of bronze TRD pro wheels that cost be $800 for the set. Working in the body shop business I do get some deals. I have 275/70r17 no rub and off roads well. Only rubs the mud guards at stock height also. Good video

Oh geez, good thing you purchased those shocks. Not sure if you purchased the truck new or used. If you had purchased new, Toyota should replace the shocks that were blown. The grab handle wasn’t put on for visual purposes while driving from what I heard. Good concerns in this video.

I believe it was done for blindspot purposes because it's a mid and full size Tundras have it (there is an aftermarket kit for one). Also hate the way the interior doors scratch easily. I also have super white and it's been flawless so can't complain about that one. Appearantly the shock had over extended to blow it out like that, as for paint my daughter had 2013 white corolla we complained to toyota about the paint peeled off from edge of sunroof to edge of window 2'×1' patch size, after weeks went buy toyota got back to us told us to take it into dealership to have it repaired the dealership told us it was common on mainly white colored vehicles which also happens to other vehicle manufactures cars & trucks but they told us they have had many problems on this issue, reality is these tacomas have good style to them but toyota is cutting corners building them cheaper lower quality paint & prep but charging tons more money for ultimately in time having problems on these way over priced trucks completely unacceptable but as long as the consumer keeps paying the ridiculous high prices on them toyota dealerships is having a good laugh because they dont really care its all bout being greedy & selling something in these times now with much lower quality & the consumer is willing to yet buy them with all the problems they come with.

@@ModernDayViking Yes I will be currious myself to see what they will "take Away" & yet boost the prices up even more so.. They took the handle away on drivers side as you know, they took away the extra storage compartment in the bed on left rear side, they continue to use the bogus excuse of chip shortages when yet consumers can go into any dealership to order any tacoma or car they want & magically the truck or car shows up in days that has the chip in it that "They" say has a shortage on?.. I believe it's a complete marketing sales scam that let's them justify to mark up prices significantly so they can't be sued for price gouging even though we are on everything else as gas & food etc, an absolute joke...
