They rang up Bernard Manning one day and tried to show him in a bad light
They asked if they could put a show on in his club with gay people thinking that Bernard would go into one and look bad.
He said no problem and went on to explain that he was one of the first people to let gay people play at his club and list some of the people who he had helped along the way to stardom.
I heard him myself say to people if you are in trouble you make your way to my club and I will see you alright.

Bernard Matthews. Chubby well bernard did raise chickens. How brilliant was that. No rehearsal for that. That's a comedians brilliant mind without thinking of the consequences. Sadly that's what's lost in comedy today.
I always remember chubby saying ' thers no such thing as blue humour. It's either funny or its not'.. a lot of comics nowdays should take note. hope you are well chubbs. He who is closest to god makes people laugh.

John Smith Funnily enough I think the opposite. I feel Bernard was funny at times, but his way of telling jokes felt more vulgar. I think Roy is the best at telling blue comedy stories. They are totally different in their approaches.
