You have only scratched the surface on Led Zeppelin. They have an incredible catalogue of music. All great songs. It makes you wonder why a band with such talent felt they had to steal Willie Dixon's 'You Need Love' and his song title 'Back-door Man.' It's not like they were short of money, so I figure it's because they thought they could get away with stealing a Delta Blues black man's song(s). Says a white Canadian 😎.
@@stevesmodelbuilds5473 To be fair, "Back-door Man" was only a reference. They actually took "You Need Love" from a version that The Small Faces did roughly 3 years earlier. If you listen to it, it's uncanny. The only thing missing is the riff. I've read that they figured because all the blues guys stole from each other, that made it okay for them to do it. Anyway, it all ended up with Dixon getting his name rightly on the credits and the money owed to him.

Led Zeppelin didn't really think of themselves of a "rock" band. They identified themselves as mostly a "blues" band, but you hear influences from other styles in their music as well, including folk music and music from other cultures. Try listening to the influence of Middle Eastern music in "Kashmir." "Since I've Been Loving You" is pure blues. You can hear the influence of folk music in "That's the Way" with the use of acoustic guitar and mandolin. "Stairway to Heaven" is their epic composition featuring contrasting sections, starting with a sweet, folksy ballad but slowly building to mighty crescendo and explosion of rock at the end. "When the Levee Breaks" is another heavy blues number originally done by African-Americans: Memphis Minnie and Joe McCoy in 1929. "The Rain Song" is Led Zeppelin's attempt at a tender love song, a challenge from the Beatles', George Harrison, who said they weren't capable of doing a song like that. They proved George Harrison wrong. Smoke a joint, lie back and listen to "No Quarter" to float away in a trance of sound. ("No Quarter" is a term meaning "take no pity" or "show no mercy" to an enemy.) "The Wonton Song" and "Trampled Under Foot" are pure rock and you'll notice the vocals take a back seat to the guitar. So, don't try too hard to figure out what he's singing because the VIBE is more important than the words.

This was released in November 1969 . It is the first track on the band's second album . Led Zeppelin were originally called " The Yardbirds" and they formed in 1968 by guitarist Jimmy Page . So the band members were ...vocalist Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist and keyboards John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham. Led Zeppelin are truly Rock Greats . I loved the reaction , and your input on the band etc at the end 🙂
The emotions and memories this song evokes from my freshman year at college are visceral. I remember every inch of her exquisite form. The light from the window. The shadows that played on the wall as we kept it cooling baby.
😂I love watching young ladies blush at Roberts overt demands!! They had some fun with the female fans in their prime! So many of us men secretly wish we could be Jimmy or Robert, striding around knowing we were rock gods and could blow anyone off the stage. Girls chucking their clothes at you! They were the shit and they knew it.
Best song ever. I have to say that I have called radio stations many times complaining about them cutting off the last high notes of that song. Its like cutting the end of a movie off. So glad you ran it to the end. So far I haven't heard a singer as good as Robert.
Led Zeppelin was formed in 1968 after the breakup of the British band The Yardbirds... It was the unique chemistry created by their 4 members - Robert Plant (vocals), Jimmy Page (guitar), John Bonham (drums) and John Paul Jones (bass/ organ/ mandolin)... that made them so explosive musically. It wouldn't work without any single member... that was why Led Zeppelin broke up in 1980 after the death of drummer John Bonham from alcohol asphyxiation. Robert Plant and John Bonham were only 19 - 20 yrs old when they joined Led Zeppelin in 1968 w/ Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones (who were a few yrs older)... They created a new sound called 'heavy rock' that would inspire the genre of heavy metal in the 70's, 80's and beyond... Plant's high range vocals... John Bonham's powerful drumming... combined w/ Jimmy Page's guitar riffs and John Paul Jones' sound holding it all together in the back. Their first 2 albums in 1969 ('Led Zeppelin' and 'Led Zeppelin II') were huge hits in America, especially after 'Whole lotta love' became a hit single that year... and breaking big in the UK and Europe by 1970... Other songs included - 'Heartbreaker'... 'Good times, bad times'... "Babe, I'm gonna leave you"... 'Immigrant song' 🔥🔥🤘🤘 But Led Zeppelin did not want to play only heavy rock... so, they released a (mostly) acoustic album 'Led Zeppelin III' in 1970 and would perform for 3 hrs in concert w/ an acoustic set. However, the critics hated the band and despised them for being as popular as The Beatles in the 60's... Frustrated by the responses in the media, the band released their 4th album w/ no title (Often called 'Led Zeppelin IV') in 1971 w/ no band name or photo... each member of Zeppelin represented by a symbol (long before Prince did it!) ... The epic song 'Stairway to Heaven' became a huge radio hit by 1972 and the 'Led Zeppelin IV' album would go on to sell 24 million copies in the US alone. Zeppelin also had a reggae song - "D'yer maker" (pronounced 'Jamaica' in a thick Jamaican accent - "Dee -ya -may - cah"!) and country and folk songs ("Bron-yr-aur stomp"... "Tangerine"... "Going to California"... 'The Battle of Evermore'...) 🔥🔥 What happened after was a series of mishaps and tragedies that plagued Zeppelin for the remainder of their career... In 1973, they were robbed of $ 200K from a hotel safety deposit box in NYC at the end of their tour... Jimmy Page broke his finger in 1975 before a massive tour, and resorted to using heroin to counter the pain and got hooked... John Bonham was drinking heavily and would resort to violent behavior in public... Then, Robert Plant and his family were nearly killed in a car accident in Greece while on vacation in 1975. Plant was unable to walk for a year and Led Zeppelin could not tour. When Zeppelin finally got back on tour in 1977 in America, the band was already falling apart w/ drugs and alcohol abuse... John Bonham and their manager Peter Grant were arrested in Oakland after a violent altercation w/ a security guard... Then, Robert Plant got news from England that his 5 yr old son Karac had died from a viral infection, which consequently ended the tour. Led Zeppelin would release a new album 'In through the out door' in 1979 and played 2 massive shows at Knebworth in England that year... The album was a #1 hit and after a few delays, they announced a US tour in 1980. Sadly, the tour never happened... Drummer John Bonham was drinking to excess one day and was found dead the next morning from alcohol asphyxiation. A devastated Led Zeppelin announced that they would not continue. Robert Plant launched a successful solo career in the 80's, but did not play the brand of heavy rock that Led Zeppelin were famous for... The band's legacy got bigger as the decades passed, and Robert and Jimmy Page did play together for a few years as Plant & Page in the 90's. Led Zeppelin would perform 1 last time in 2007 for a charity concert w/ Jason Bonham (John Bonham's son) on drums, which was filmed and released as a CD/DVD 'Celebration day'.

You spent all your time listening to the music which is understandable. Take the time to listen to the lyrics. I first heard this when I was in high school. I graduated in 1970. Even the AM radio station I heard it on didn't pick up on the lyrics. Examples : "I'm going to give you every inch of my love". "I want to be your backdoor man". That can be taken 2 ways. The break - Can you hear him moaning? You can't imagine how many concerts and club shows I've been to in 50 years. I'm not listening to Tony Bennett now. My favorite band is Motörhead (seen them many times) and in the early 80's I was in the LA punk scene.
My favorite LP's are "Physical Graffiti" 1975, and their last "In through the out door" - The rest are dam fine records as well. It was a shame they quit at thier peak, but many great rock bands have. They helped begin the heavy metal sound--it seems after their debut, all the bands started to go a little heavier/louder.
on Dec. 4, 1980 - Led Zeppelin made the difficult decision to break up, two months after the death of drummer John Bonham. The group reunited on stage in 1985, 1988, 1995 and 2007, with Jason playing drums for them on several of these occasions. You never know what you were gonna get from them. Their music was always surprising. M y fav is Kashmir
They have such a deep catalogue, there were a couple albums, their third one, Led Zep III, and then their penultimate one, Presence, that a lot of people didn't like it as much although they all have gems on them. But superfans absolutely loved every minute of it because this was the most amazing band ever in this way. But man they were able to put out enough albums before John Bonham affectionately known as Bonzo died and put an end to it all. And they were just really taking off, but they were taking off for ten years before that honestly. And so this is from their early stuff. And they caught the world by storm for sure. Every one of them was amazin; it's just the perfect combination of extraordinary people in the right place at the right time. For this reason, it is so difficult to recommend anything because there's just so much. I've seen reactors literally go through their albums in order because all of it is just so good. But I would say if anything, right off the top my head, check out the song, Trampled Under Foot. On the one hand it's just so brutal but on the other it's just such a great dance song You Know? I'm sure you would get it.
Hello again Steve. We both recently commented on a BOC reaction. I would also recommend Trampled Under Foot, might I also suggest doing a live version.
@@stevedahlberg8680 The Crunge!!! Major funk! Could be mistaken for something straight outta Motown. I don't believe I've seen a reaction to it either. To be honest I haven't listened to it in a long time.
@@SnoBear626 It's one of my favorite songs by them and difficult to play. I think I read once that they thought it was the most difficult song that they had recorded. Kind of like La Villa Strangiato with Rush. I love it on every level and it's basically pure comedy gold all the way through. If you really listen to the words and the way that he delivers them, it's like the perfect stand-up comedy routine, and it is so incredibly funny to me. And of course it ends with that iconic "Where is that confounded bridge?!" 😀
Oh and "back in the day" we had "Yin & Yang" of Rock. Led Zeppelin & Pink Floyd So if you want the "other world" check out :- Pink Floyd "Money" BUT NOT THE OFFICIAL VIDEO (that's a cut down radio version) has to be the album track. If you think of Led Zep as going to the best bar in the world then Pink Floyd is indulging in the most mind bending psychodelics known to man. Once you done "Money" and get your head around the pace and few lyrics then "Time" followed by "The Great Gig in the Sky" all taken from the album The Dark Side of the Moon 😉
Yes, you DO need to dive deeper, all their albums are just slap full of hits and no one song sounds like the next, but it always still has the Zeppelin vibe....always.
Every generation has its favourites but generally these guys tick all the boxes for every progressive music lover. Something for everyone. If you really have not heard them before you are in for a thrilling ride!
In the early days, Zeppelin was heavily criticized by music critics. They didn't like Plant's high vocals, described as screeching, unimpressed by the drumming and found the guitar work uninspiring. Rock hadn't really broken down into different genres so the concept of heavy metal hadn't been defined. The critics couldn't have been more wrong. I loved the band from the very first album (the first full vinyl record I ever bought) and onward. I grew up with Zeppelin and love the music even more as time goes by.
Mia there must be 200 or more incredible Zep songs that you would love. Yes dig deeper. Ten Years Gone is a Gem. Also In The Light and Stairway To Heaven from the Live 1973 Madison Square Garden Show

Best song ever. I have to say that I have called radio stations many times complaining about them cutting off the last high notes of that song. Its like cutting the end of a movie off. So glad you ran it to the end. So far I haven't heard a singer as good as Robert.
I grew up listening to Led Zeppelin. It blesses me to see younger people enjoying this great music.I recommend In the Light by Led Zeppelin.
It hits hard, right? These guys are lockstep together, which is why the magic happens. Great reaction, Mia!
Start with first album first song. Arguably their best work is album 1
'Immigrant song' 🔥🔥🤘🤘
But Led Zeppelin did not want to play only heavy rock... so, they released a (mostly) acoustic album 'Led Zeppelin III' in 1970 and would perform for 3 hrs in concert w/ an acoustic set. 'The Battle of Evermore'...) 🔥🔥
What happened after was a series of mishaps and tragedies that plagued Zeppelin for the remainder of their career...
You've just been zapped by Zep. Just go through each album 1 by 1..... Dazed and Confused live is a must!!!! The 4 GOAT will not disappoint.

Oh honey! You have to react to "Since I've Been Loving You" LIVE by Zeppelin!!!
Great reaction!!!
This is one of the biggest rabbit holes out there….. one of my personal favorites,Fool in the Rain
Also try The Song Remains The Same/The Rain Song live 1973 at MSG...you have to do both together!! Killer performance!
Welcome aboard the ZEPPELIN , hope you enjoy your trip.
I remember when Bonham died, heard it on the car radio in front of Landmark Diner in Roslyn, NY. I am old.
@@lacm64 me too. 70 years young. Lol
@@SnoBear626 Hey man. I just had a funny thought - I'm not sure I've ever seen a reactor react to The Crunge. 😀
Makes me wanna go back to being 17 and listen to these dudes❤❤❤
Everithing of LZ Is magestic. It's THE best bend ever
Oh and "back in the day" we had "Yin & Yang" of Rock.
Led Zeppelin & Pink Floyd
So if you want the "other world" check out :-
Pink Floyd "Money" BUT NOT THE OFFICIAL VIDEO (that's a cut down radio version) has to be the album track.
Loved your expression..you need more Zeppelin ❤
you feelin' it sister! great reaction to such a great song
Thanks A Ton Steven 🙂
Greatest band of all time led zeppelin they are untouchable I seen them in concert the most talented group ever and ever will be
I've been a Zeppelin fan from the first album they put out I enjoyed how different the songs are
Saw them play live about 45 years ago in Manchester England. Their music had a great influence on my life. I envy you hearing this for the first time!
Mia there must be 200 or more incredible Zep songs that you would love. Yes dig deeper. Ten Years Gone is a Gem. Also In The Light and Stairway To Heaven from the Live 1973 Madison Square Garden Show
Jimmy Page always looks like he is making rockstar posters! Led Zeppelin greatest band ever! Great reaction!
Since the late 1960’s I’ve been a Zep fan. This is a good song but my absolute favorite song they did, (and the best IMO) is “Tea for One”
