I just worked Envision festival, was fed vegan food for 9 days straight, so I was ready to head back to the capital city for some real food. Wrong, i'm in San Jose now, and the food here is still pretty bland AND expensive. I'm so done with gallo pinto, at least the Costa Rican variety. How can you mess up something so simple as rice and beans?? I'm Mexican American, so I definitely know rice and beans. I fly back to California tomorrow, so as soon as I land, i'm going out for a big fat carne asada or al pastor burrito. I will also be smoking a brisket this weekend. Now I know why no one ever says "lets go out for Costa Rican food"
