This is excellent, short and punchy. I will show it to my students in lecture. I am also trying to show them real examples, there does not seem to be many examples on youtube of real quality, therefore I have set this channel up for my students to see real proposal and dissertation examples, as there is real vale in this, we can only learn and understand sometimes when we can see the end product. I am happy for anyone to come and watch these examples, not just my students at the university of York, as I think all students can gain a lot and improve their marks from seeing them

@@SelinaOzay this is rly interesting! At my uni everything is individual from the get go (we have our own advisors, and don't even have labs anymore) and it's 8k words 🥲. Did you get individual advisors? Are you glad you came up with a research idea as part of a group, or did that make it more challenging?
Great vid again Selina, dissertations are definitely daunting so I'd definitely recommend that nobody leave it till the last minute like I did (I'm one of those people who left the referencing till the last minute for my Masters dissertation lol 😂 ) Keep up the great work! @@jamiladjamila4690 I think it’s more research actually, when conducting a study in psychology we need to find previous research to provide a rationale/reason for conducting our study. And to help us come up with hypotheses (predictions) as to what direction the results may go in, previous research can help massively with that too.
Reading also helps you know what has and hasn’t been conducted in your area of interest, so you don’t make the mistake of carrying out a study that’s already been done.

It was only group based in terms of the study and data analysis, but writing it up as a report and the poster was individual!

Yeah people need at least a month to write up there dissertation, waiting any longer than that and they’ll regret it

5 weeks is a lot of time though to write a dissertation. From my experience you only really need a month in general to write up a good dissertation
