Students humiliated by staff member at North High School rally, KHSD apologizes

- A rally at North High School Tuesday has many students and parents upset.
The rally, which was mandatory for all seniors to attend turned into a moment of humiliation when employees called out 34 students who are not graduating.
This is a violation of FERPA law. The students should file a lawsuit against the school.
I really hope that this didn't cause some of the kids to decide not to go back to school. If it had been me I would not have ever wanted to go back. I struggled with my grades in high school and tried as hard as I could at the time. This would have humiliated me. Like one of the kids said, what if there was a disability or family issues that caused the student to do poorly that year. This is unacceptable.
Phoenix Layton Do you think the Teacher who did this should've been fired or given some kind of punishment? Because obviously what he made them do was horrible, but teachers all have different methods of teaching. Even though in this case he took it way too far.
I hope someone embarrasses the staff & they feel the same way they made these students feel. Some students don't pass because they may need more help than other students & no one cares enough to lend those students a helping hand.
i was embarrassed for having my name on the wall in the main hall for not turning in My freaking birth certificate on the due date I can't imagine how they most have felt tbh i would maybe have made a scene
I'd love to know how this turned out. No way is this acceptable. The "retention officer" had NO business doing anything like that, and the rest of the school's administrators should have stepped in immediately. Problem is, once it was done, it was done. The "officer" could have been FIRED and it still would have been too late.
That is unprofessional.

That would probably be even more humiliating to them, it wouldn't be right getting a sympathy graduation especially when everyone knows the truth that you should have failed.

Absolutely unacceptable. What is it with schools nowadays doing such offensive, ridiculous things like this? Every time you turn around there's another story of a school doing something highly inappropriate. I never thought I'd say this but home schooling is looking better and better. If you ask me, those students didn't fail, their school failed them
