A question came in this morning on this video; Question: Can this be done on any car? Or does it depend what tool was used to do the mileage clocking?? Answer: Yes it depends what tool was used to clock it and if the mileage is stored in other locations. My guess is the clocker used a cheap mileage tool that only corrected the BCM/Dash but didn't have a option for the engine. So I read the mileage for the PCM (Engine ECU)

@@newwavepressure6478 it will pick up the mileage recorded into that new ECU. You can always check a carfax or some sort of vehicle history before making the purchase. I ran into a situation buying an Acura MDX, the seller had altered the ODO but I was able to find the scam by buying a carfax. The MDX had 181k miles and the seller altered to 81k.
Is this reader or the MK808 capable of reading mileage from the ECU on Hondas? Hondas have been particularly difficult to get data from. I also heard that mileage is stored in the cluster only, but I assume it should also be stored in some ECU. Any insight into how to find it would be greatly appreciated thank you.
I need to check my van, as I believe it’s been clocked I have a big case going with Vw, 2018 t6 dsg, 28k new flywheel needed and v belts and tensioners. I’m London based.
Hi does any body know is Autel MK808 can do the same? read module running time (check original millage in cars). I ask because this is Autel 908 version more expensive.
Would you be able to put back the real miles on to the cluster ? Maybe they swapped the cluster and old cluster has the old miles ? With that tool Ofcourse.
With this training course will you be able to read the original mileage on all vehicle types as well as correcting them? How many tools need to be bought to cover all vehicles too
As he stated in a previous comment, it can be checked for the actual milage that the ecu has stored. So if someone changed the milage on the cluster, you could catch it with this scan tool. However, some of the more advanced scammers will go ahead and buy a really sophisticated milage corrector. And those tools may also have the ability to change the milage on the ecu. So it depends what milage corrector was used. My biggest concerns with your 4runner would be #1 the rust on the underbody (Toyotas rust very very quickly) and #2 would be the head gasket. All those Toyota engines will have headgasket problems at some point.
How to detect clocking when they do it before going in for any inspections/mot’s/service or whatever ? This is the real question they do it before it will get recorded every time

Thanks for the many great videos, I have a question what is the best scanner to confirm actual miles on a vehicle away from the dash? I'm in USA and have a Budget of $1000 but want to buy in usa for warranty purposes. Very interesting and concerning. Is it possible to change the mileage further in the computer system so that the diagnostic tool can be fooled? I am thinking if you get a good inspection will the inspector always be able to find if it's been clocked?
@tes but the process would be different to find the mileage on other cars, we do a training course on this and Mileage correction AutomotiveEducation.online
It is possible to reflash the EEPROM with a lower mileage and align the data with other modules that record it in the vehicle. Many record the mileage of the last ODO change. This can be thwarted by changing to 0.0 miles before changing again to the desired mileage... but even then EEPROM keeps count each time a change is made to the odometer, so even the most high tech devices are not undetectable but can pass a simple inspection if done correctly.
Ok so I understand this correctly, with a professional car scanner I can determine if the car that I intend to purchase has the actual mileage of it has been intentionally changed, is that correct?
