Lore: Undertale, Underswap, and Storyshift timeline intersect within the chaos. The judge from three AUs meet each other at the Bad Time Trio timeline. The human killed them and reset this all over 30 times. After their non-stop reset, their karma also keeps stacking. The three judges decided to let Sans absorb the souls of the other two. Because of the experience of cooperating in the past, Sans perfectly accepted their souls. Successfully defeated the murderer and broke the loop of Bad Time Trio. Because their original timelines already collapsed, they decided to bring a part of determination from their human and try to find somewhere in the multiverse that they can live peacefully. The judges can do limited multiversal travel.(Sans can only travel to the AU/ATs of Undertale, Papyrus can only travel to AU/ATs of Underswap, Chara can only travel to AU/ATs of Storyshift) They also can collect files from these timelines to strengthen themselves. In the remains of BTT timeline, the murderer wasn't completely defeated, and their minds still remain. Because the judges broke through the timeline, they wandered throughout the multiverse, collecting the pieces of soul and the hatred from every murderer that had failed, sending all those back to the BTT timeline to reform their body. After a long while, the judges collected many files and strengthened a lot more, and the murderer finally formed three perfect vessels for them to use. Underswap Papyrus was the first to notice the change of BTT timeline. After he informed Sans and Chara, he went straight to the timeline.
how could Sans absorb their souls..? did Chara absorb Papyrus' and Sans absorbed Chara's soul? Edit: monsters can't absorb a soul of their own kind Edit 2: and wouldn't anyone that is absorbed loose their body and all that..? smells like bad writing
